Let’s Talk Watches

For sure though even a new Tudor you won’t get your teeth kicked in like buying a full price IWC, Panerai, GS, Sinn.

Picked up this Pelagos for my 10 years of sobriety and dive certs. Used but I’m not sure the previous owner wore it.

Those pelagos are SWEET. Shopping around you can definitely find some deals where the watch is "used" but your right if you want to buy new Tudor is one of the few that you won't lose your shirt on.

Omega is almost comical at times to see the insane price difference between new and "used." Same with Breitling as long as you stay away from a couple of the highly desired discontinued models

Congrats on the sobriety, and you picked an awesome watch to commemorate it with.

I’m partial to the black bay bronze, but the Pelagos is an absolute classic with really interesting history

You can find Citizen Promaster Divers below $200 I think. Especially if you’re willing to buy lightly used. I recently purchased the Titanium one for $270 on EBay. It had very light scratches on the clasp. Nothing I wouldn’t do in the first few months of wearing it myself…

I have a Victorinox Officer's I bought like in the early 90s = well, it started off in the plastic case, and I broke it twice so sent it back and asked them if the could put a metal case on it and they did and made it into an Officers. its my favorite watch - very slim but classic

Citizen often has their Promaster dive watch on Amazon for $199 ( Half of retail). It is in my rotation of daily watches especially on the boat. Great lume as well.

Some good sales on here right now:

1000004956.jpgI think I am on year 8 or 9. Bezel still works easily, had to lube it once after a beach/salt water week. Replaced the band about year 5. If its under your sleeve at night the lumination isnt great when you uncover it. Never had a desire for a replacement. Its too easy to live with.

A Pelagos is top of the list for watches for me but unfortunately the watch list is fairly low on the overall priority list. They are 👍👍👍 though.

For the OP, my most frequent wears are a Seiko SRPG (27 I think but maybe 29) or Glycine Combat Sub.

Can’t go wrong with either if you like the style and find a decent deal.

I just picked up a Seiko alpinist, Pelagos will be next in the next few years. Great suggestions on here
Awesome choice. It’s pretty cool when you get a true sapphire crystal, and it just doesn’t ever scratch. Definitely an upgrade that will always be worth it to me.
Let’s see some pictures of the alpinist!
