Goat bullets.

New user here trying to hit my 10 posts before I can really do anything on the site. Strange requirement but I presume there's a reason for it. I drew a mountain goat tag in Colorado this year and I appreciate this thread as I'm weighing caliber and bullet choices.

Blacktail Sniper, I'm new to the forum trying to rack up my first 10 posts but I'll say that my .280 AI LOVE Hornady GMXs. I throw handholds in 139 gr or 150 gr with great success. I drew a mountain goat tag in Colorado this year and I'm having the same debate with myself about what to use. the .280 AI is the minimum I'd consider but I'm thinking about going to the ol .300 Win Mag for this hunt to have heavier shoulder-breaking power and as much bad medicine as I can (it's the biggest cartridge I own).

Never shot a goat but I have a hunt in BC coming up. As of now I’m planning to take a 6.5 prc with 147eldm. That plan could always change.

killed one with a 155grain Terminal Ascent out of a 7PRC. Killed another with a 200-grain Accubond out of a 300 win mag. Both killed the goats no problem with shots over 400 yards.
