I've waited on the sidelines prepping to purchase a premium trimmer for several years now, any reason NOT to purchase the Hornady unit?I have the Hornady. Super easy to adjust, and you don't have to hold the brass with your fingers. Not super familiar with the other options, but I doubt they could be any better.
Gotcha thanks. Deciding between the two currently.I mentioned it above, the spring loaded plunger thing in the bushing is sloppy.
The Hornady is professionally built and engineered. The Giraud is a garage engineered Franken – contraption.Gotcha thanks. Deciding between the two currently.
I fixed that for you, lol.The Hornady is professionally stolen design.
From?I fixed that for you, lol.
I used to use that same trimmer. But it would tire my hands out after doing 100-200 piece of brassI'm looking for a case trimmer/prep station.
Cases would be 7PRC, 300WSM, 6CM.
Any reason you wouldn't use this?

The only reason I can think of was mentioned above, claims that they ripped it off from the (I think) Henderson. I don't care about that and the value delivered to customers by Hornady wins imo. I think I got mine for $550 and that's with all the pilots needed.I've waited on the sidelines prepping to purchase a premium trimmer for several years now, any reason NOT to purchase the Hornady unit?

I'd not trim altogether before I ever went back to 3 separate stepsPrimary reason is trimming, chamfering, and deburing are in 3 steps rather than 1 if i'm not mistaken. Seems like a nice option if you're ok with taking significantly longer than a 3-in-1 setup.
That's what I use too.Ive always preferred the lee case length gauges. Impossible to mess up and I put the case holder in a cordless drill. Makes for quick trimming and chamfering.
Hornady didn’t steal anything. They improved on a couple of flaws with the Henderson.
One being belt drive vs direct drive on the Hornady. The other being the addition of micrometer adjustment instead of some hokey bolt and nut design to adjust length where you have no idea how much adjustment you are making.
I say this as a Henderson owner.
