I have a few belts...all do the job. But, leave some comfort to be desired when my waist belt is sitting right on top of where my pants belt sits.

Anybody have a belt that feels comfortable in that spot, under a pack? I've gravitated towards flipping the belt outwards and almost having the waist belt rest on top of the belt, to keep it from digging in to my hip. Not ideal.

Have only tried my leather belt I wear with my day to day carhartt and such. And a riggers belt from the mil days.

Any good extra flat belts out there that work well with a pack? Curious what works for others.

I have a “slimline” belt from allelk.com in the mail. I hate buckles under the backpack waist belt.

I will report back after I use it some.

Belt for hunting

What kind of belt do you guys use when hunting or hiking? I use a regular leather belt but wondering if others are more comfy. Any brand in particular? I have been looking at the Kifaru ones but they are kinda spendy.

They're definitely not targeted to the hunting community but I came across Arcade belts (https://arcadebelts.com/collections/adventure-original) in an REI when I went on a business trip and accidentally left my casual belt at home.

It's been the most comfortable hunting belt I've ever owned. No pain or pinching under my pack. Sold all my riggers belts and just run this now.

As some one who’s run a Heavy riggers belt and thick leather gun belts for their entire adult life I appreciate stiff belts. I usually run high end and boutique stuff for almost all my activity (buy once cry once/ get what you pay for type) But when running a pack I like lightweight, thin and easy adjust plus easy on off.

The best is a strange recommendation (and under $20) the Mozeto Tactical Belt. Its a unique take on the cobra buckle. The long “paw” locking cam for adjusting the end you run through your belt loop is super fast and secure. The off brand cobra buckle has an advantage the Cobra buckle doesn’t. Namely you can open it when the belt is under load. This might be an issue for climbing gear if your hanging over a cliff. But when I just want to drop trough- a regular cobra buckle You have to lift and pull both ends of the belt together then press the tabs. I almost need a third hand. This just pops open. Also the belt is strong as hell but super light and . I bought one on a whim because I thought the buckle was intriguing, now it’s my favorite belt when running a pack. Doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a belt at all.

For me theses belts really DO sit much flatter than any other belt I own

Blue Alpha Belts has what you seek, I have a few of these plus a velcro-only overlapping belt that is even slimmer.

Had no idea stretch belts were the new thing...is there a benefit of traditional web belts still if I'm not hanging anything off this particular belt?

Here is one not to get ....marsupial gear stretch web belt. Used for two weeks in and out of Alaska and didnt care for it . The buckle is fantastic however the material of the belt sucks. It will slip a bit during the day and you will need to tighten it. Also the top lip of the belt will ride over pants tops and dig in a bit, because when it slips though day use the material is stiffer then your pants and it will ride up. Big let down because when it first adjusted it sweet.

Back to a combination of a single leather Filson belt and simms nylon with chinch buckle....both are fine under a pack and will last longer then I care to own them

I use the Kifaru web belt for deer and turkey. Lays flat and is comfortable with the pack belt. I use the Filson double leather belt for upland. I dig more traditional upland clothes and it holds my chaps up well.

I do enjoy my leatehr belts, alot. Just need something that is a little less stiff than a riggers belt under my pack. Leaning towards that first lite flex belt...i won't have much time to break in a new web belt before the season.

I haven’t tried under a pack very much yet but I work construction and wear a heavy tool belt every day and found the grip 6 has been my favorite so far. Have tried a few others and this one has worked the best.

Check out Wilderness belts as you continue researching belts. I have the 1.5 inch Instructor belt which is great for holster carry (IWB or OWB) and it also comes in a money belt version...for true stealth carry And finally, the belt buckle is in the form of a mountaineering buckle in the event you need to be airlifted out of (or into) your favorite hunting spot. Hope this helps...

Hardly know you're wearing this thing. It's really stiff for EDC but very slim and comfortable. They have another with a larger cobra style buckle but I don't have experience with it.

Arcade here as well. I always wore suspenders until I found the Arcade belts. Stretchy enough to be comfortable and sturdy enough to hold my pants up. Very low profile buckle system for going under your pack belts.
