Sweet build

Couple shorty Tikka .22 Creeds in Peak Blacktooth and Bastion stocks. Kampfeld punched out a .223 barrel on the top one and .22-250 on bottom, both 8 twists and sporters. Either seems to absolutely hammer with 77 TMK hand loads albeit a touch slow in typical Tikka fashion.

Firmly in the "semi-custom" camp now I'd say.

6mm Creed (formerly a 6.5 Creed)
UM Ace Tikka Prefit, SP3 Contour, 22", 1:7.5, Slow Spiral Fluting
UM Tikka Rings, Medium
UM Tikka Bolt Handle and Knob

Took an angle grinder with a sanding disk to the factory Tikka stock to hog out the barrel channel for the SP3 contour. Business card fits all the way around. Ordered the barrel on 5/19/25, shipped 7/9/25. Just a hair over 7 weeks. Just need the Rokstok for it now.

What is the weight of the bare rifle vs factory with that barrel?

Follow up to my build. Got it out to the range yesterday and printed this 5 shot with factory Hornady 134 eldm. 40 rounds down the tube and I’m sitting at 2740 avg velocity.

Unfortunately didn’t think to weigh it like that. All I did was weigh the barrel. I can compare it against the .223 18” barrel and get a ballpark tonight.

Edit: found on SnipersHide a weight of 40.4 oz for a 22” .308. So about a 7oz increase.

Rounds 21-40 down the pipe...I think it's a shooter. Never seen that much daylight through a group, had to include the raw photo haha. Garmin missed a shot (two actually today), but got a little preliminary data.
Hornady factory 108 ELD-M, Lot #3251509. 19 shots captured, AVG 2885, ES 39.0, SD 11.0. I was seeing double those ES and SD numbers in half the amount of shots with the factory 6.5CM barrel and 143's.

My Frankenstein Build.

Stainless T3 Action, used to be a 300wsm

Factory CTR 6.5CM Barrel

Tikka Bolt Directly from Baretta

KRG X Ray chassis

APA Brake

Spartan Bipod

Leopold 20MOA Rail

Has a Burris Fullfield II on it now just for dry firing. Not sure what optic will wind up on it but it will soon have a Leupold Mark 5 that is being lent to me.

This gun is specifically being used for PRS Matches. The Chassis, bi pod and soon to be optic are being loaned to me until I can decide what I like best. Fortunately for me I am able to try and and shoot just about any chassis on the market over the next few months as well as Optics that are popular in PRS.

I hate to say it but this gun might wind up with a non drop test certified optic, something I would never do with a hunting rifle. But for a heavy PRS gun that will be babied and and used only at matches, I'm considering it. Like I said I have time to decide and try different things.
