It is a bit heavier than I was hoping for but it was the lightest profile I could get in the .338 caliber for the Tikka prefits. If I could have, I would have gone with the .750 taperless profile.

Overall, I am happy with it. The brake mounted up nicely, and I threaded one of my .30 cal cans on just to see and it also threaded on and snugged up just right.
I was kinda spilt between the two contours. So looks like a spiral fluted .750 taperless will be going in the ROK stock when it is finished

I have waters magazines that allow for 2.6” Coal, 500 80gr eldms, and varget to get started.

Right now to break in the barrel I’ve just been running cheap factory frontier 75gr bthp at 2660fps. Shot a few 10shot groups at 750 yards yesterday in a 10mph crosswind, they were 2-3moa. Although hoping to push the 80s around 2600fps. That will still keep me supersonic to 1000yards at 1000’ elevation.

I shot a bunch of the 80s at distance again this morning. The 80g ELDM at ~2800 takes the Tikka 223 to another level. The Litz/AB .258 G7 BC lines up well, and gives this gun similar ballistics to my 6.5CM but with zero recoil. Its fun.

I’ll throw mine on here. It’s been a long journey, starting with a Christensen Mesa 300prc that shot 3” after sending it back to them for a new barrel. My uncle passed and nobody wanted his beloved t3 in 270wsm. I have a 6.5prc so I had little use for the caliber, but I still wanted to bring a piece of him around with me. She is a 30Nos now. 22” proof 1/10, suppressor is still in jail. Mesa Altitude, had a leupold vx3i until the recoil broke the front lens loose. Zeiss conquest now at the sacrifice of some weight. 2 for 2 after the facelift! 210 yard bear, 427 yard deer. Swapped bullets to the 210gr nosler ABLR at 2905fps after barrel break in.

I may have missed it, what caliber did you go with? I think a 16”-18” barreled 33 Nosler is in my future….

I would like to start a Tikka 7PRC build and am trying to figure out my best bet for a donor Tikka action. I currently have a Tikka T3X 243 in stainless and would love to use that action, however, I don't believe that action would be compatible with a 7PRC right? I've read that you can open up the bolt or something like that to make it work with larger cartridges. Can anyone with knowledge on this provide more information as to the possibilities and what the expected cost might be? If the cost is too high it might make more sense to just purchase a new Tikka action for the build. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The action is the same across all Tikka’s. You’d need to trade your standard (ie. 308) bolt for a magnum bolt. I’ve traded plenty of bolts here on Rokslide.

You’d also need to trade your short action bolt stop for a long action bolt stop (or just pay the $20 for one).

You need any Tikka with a magnum bolt fact and a long action bolt stop. You can buy just a bolt assembly from a place like jaoutdoors for about $475-ish, or you can buy a complete stripped action for $900 from them. Or you buy a magnum Tikka, strip the whole thing yourself, sell the barrel, and then rebarrel for the 7PRC.

Nice build. I've been interested in a McMillan Game Warden or Game Scout for a while. How do you like the stock? Is the comb height comfortable for the scope?

The stocks are fantastic, I do prefer the game hunter though. This combo is comfortable

How do you like the stock? I thought Grayboe just released the Phoenix for Tikkas this month.
