I am a big fan of the McMillan Game Hunter and SWFA scopes! And of course, Tikka!

I'm trying to decide if I want to double down on the McM hunter for all tikkas or switch it up to something "more modern" (I guess?) like the Mesa or Game Hunter.

Very similar design. Pending the use, I'm pretty sure the Mesa is will be slightly lighter.

All nice builds - really like that first one al lot! If you don't mind my asking who do you use for the barrel work on those?? Looks like they do a great job.

If you're asking me, the 6.5 PRC was done by S&S Precision in Denton, TX. The 7-08 was done by ZG Customs, he's based somewhere around DFW but doesn't really have a public shop. You kind of got to know how to reach him. But both do great work. If interested in ZG Customs, reach out to Dallasreloads.com he can get you hooked up.

Wow this is awesome. Do you have a write up anywhere on how you got such great camo results at home with DuraCoat? Did you use stencils or something?

No problem, I've also had good luck with Alamo Precision Rifles doing work for me. About the only good thing living in the DFW area is lot of good gunsmiths around here.

I went with AG simply because I could customize the options...finish and LOP mostly.

I was wrong in the original spec post, I'm running a 24" tube, I got it mixed up with another barrel I ordered.

Thanks Jon for the reply. Is this mostly a hunting rig or a long range shooting gun? I am asking because one of my fears is getting a 24in barrel + 7in can and having it be way to long to pack around in the backcountry.

Can anybody else weigh in on recommendations for a 6.5 prc barrel length with a 7in suppressor for a pack gun?

Hunting exclusively, I've got other rifles strictly for LR shooting.

Most of my hunting is above the treeline or in sparse vegetation, so it doesn't bother me much. I would take the shortest gun I could regardless, but for this one I'm comfortable taking some reasonably long shots so I don't want my ability to outrun my gun's lethality.

I think I’m done with it for a little while

This is a rifle I plan to shoot matches with, currently running in at 15 pounds with the suppressor. Will have it rebarreled with a medium Palma next winter just to balance it out and add a bit of length and weight.
