The upgraded bolt handle was my only pimp impulse. I would like to cerakote the barrel and action before hunting season. Long shot in the NE is 200 yards, so rifle is flat without dialing in. Best money spent has been $138 each for the Hornady American gunner 200 round ammo cans.

I took a 6.5 CTR and turned it into a distance steel shooter. Will try and post pics of that one.

Sorry if im bugging you guys with the questions, but the issues that people are having reloading .300 wm in the tikka, are people with the 7mm mag having the same issues?

Steel Hunter. We don't get long shots in the woods and this rifle is heavy.

Tikka CTR 6.5 CM
Bravo Stock, Spigot
Little Bastard Brake (helps with social distancing at the range)
Area 419 20MOA rail
Badger 50 max rings (overkill, got a good price used)
Bushnell LRTS Cameraland deal scope
KRG Midas Two Stage Trigger (totally worth it)

For what it’s worth, my 7RM shoots best with a COAL of 3.290” and I believe the magazine will take a cartridge at 3.365”

But that’s MY rifle. Others experiences will vary a fair bit.

Well that can be a difficult thing to answer.
First you need to decide the contour of the barrel you plan on using.
Tikkas shoot great the way they are, so upgrading the stock would be my choice, then add the barrel later.

Man you righties are lucky, aside from the .300 wsm I am already planning on doing I wanted to customize a 7mm-08 but I guess us southpaws dont get that luxury in tikkas, looks like I am going to go the CA Ridgeline route for that.

Had my eye on a $12K Gunwerks Clymer, but it was about $12K out of my budget. Went the Tikka route instead. Looking at hunting everything with this one, from hogs to elk.

Donor 300WM T3X Lite (found in Sheridan WY for $500 unfired...)

AG Alpine Hunter stock, raw carbon/orange camo

Proof pre-fit 6.5PRC 22" 24" T3X barrel

TBAC brake, 30CB7suppressor

Anarchy bolt knob/handle

Mountain tactical 20MOA extended rail

Leupold MK5 3.6-18 H59 w/Leupold low/med rings

Pushing .3 or less so far with factory Hornady ammo. Feed smooth and fast like every Tikka I have. This one turned out exactly like I planned and I have no complaints.

Where did you get that stock inlet for the Tikka - seems I recall seeing somewhere but now I can't find it?? They don't list that inlet on the AG website.
Looks great by the way - nice build!

You have to call AG direct, they only do the Tikka inlet on the Alpine Hunter stock. Your only options are barrel contour, LOP, finish, and whether you want the supplied recoil lug bedded or not.

Turn-around was 6 weeks, they said 11-12 but I have never waited that long. Quality and CS were excellent, I highly recommend it.

They are the OEM for Mesa Precision, thats another option if you like their setup.

Thanks! Weight is 9.9 pounds. Could’ve gone lighter with some components, but I opted to prioritize durability. So far I’m stoked on how it turned out.

Shane,

What bolt knob and cheek pad is on your Tikka?

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Bolt knob is the Lumley carbon fiber/titanium bolt handle. Big fan. I have 3 of these on rifles.

The cheek pad is a custom one built by Wiebad. I sent them a template and they made this for me. I think they charged me the same as the stock units so around $40.
