Have any of you ever used the mountain tactical rail? I’d prefer it to be a 0 moa.
I just looked that rail up and even though I’d prefer a 0moa the SRS rail looks like great quality and super low profile. Thank’s for the recommendation I think that will probably be the rail I buy.Check out the new rail from SRS: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/tikka-base-recoil-pin.339649/#post-3410009
SRS Tikka T3x 20 moa scope rail
Hey guys, not on here much as of late but with working on the Rokstock I added Rokslide to my computer and will make a point of being on here more often. I'd like to introduce the first in what will develop into a large line of picatinny scope rails. This is the Tikka T3x 20 MOA scope rail...rokslide.com
Yes, edges are sharper than the Area 419 and just doesn't feel as nicely made.Have any of you ever used the mountain tactical rail? I’d prefer it to be a 0 moa.
I wouldn’t buy one without a recoil pin.Has anyone tried the Sphur rail? They offer a 0 and 20 moa rail with a recoil pin.
I have a Warne weaver style base without a recoil pin on my t3x 270 win and that rifle shoots lights out. Is the recoil pin just extra insurance?I wouldn’t buy one without a recoil pin.
I would try to find a used ctr rail if you want low and 0moa. They use all the screws and have 2 steel pins. I’m sure someone has one they want to get rid of
Have you seen this thread?: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/bonding-a-picatinny-rail-to-an-action.318206/I have a Warne weaver style base without a recoil pin on my t3x 270 win and that rifle shoots lights out. Is the recoil pin just extra insurance?
Is the recoil pin super necessary? Also can you mount a CTR rail on a standard T3x?
I 100% agree with you. It sounds like you can’t go wrong with the SRS or the Area 419 but I’ll probably go with the SRS just because it looks lower profile. It depends on use and your tolerance for potential failure.
Think about it this way- if two products are nearly identical and do the same thing, to about the same cost, but one or more reliable or more durable- why would ever choose the one that worse?
It’s the same here. The SRS rail is extremely low profile, machined correctly, and has a tight recoil pin.
The two rails I mentioned as what I would buy are literally so tight that they are a press fit in to get on the receiver. I don’t know why you wouldn’t want the insurance of pins in this instance.I have a Warne weaver style base without a recoil pin on my t3x 270 win and that rifle shoots lights out. Is the recoil pin just extra insurance?
Hmmm ... a year ago, I would have ordered several.
Really liking mesa stock for a hunting rifleSeems I can’t stop building these easy button Tikka hunting rifles. Thanks @MuleyFever for the awesome barreled action!

Loading up some 175 ELDX’s and will report back in the cold bore challenge if I get time. If it shoots like my other 5 semi custom Tikkas it’s going to be a fun one!

I have waters magazines that allow for 2.6” Coal, 500 80gr eldms, and varget to get started.
Right now to break in the barrel I’ve just been running cheap factory frontier 75gr bthp at 2660fps. Shot a few 10shot groups at 750 yards yesterday in a 10mph crosswind, they were 2-3moa. Although hoping to push the 80s around 2600fps. That will still keep me supersonic to 1000yards at 1000’ elevation.
Did stockys change there name? I noticed on your original post it was a different brand ?Yes sir it is. Add a grippy clear coat which is why it looks so shiny.
