Okay, so as long as we’re going to show off a few of our kills with the big bores, here’s a few of mine with the .375 M70.

The rifle isn’t in the picture but that’s what was used.

You don’t see velvet moose very often. Beautiful, all of those!

9.3X64 Brenneke built on a VZ24 action, Lothar Walther barrel, 2pos Wisner safety, Wisner floorplate, my own shop made bottom metal, shop made bolt handle, nice stick of claro walnut from Cecil Fredi. Same rifle, different scopes in the two photos. The hartebeest is from Namibia.

I caretake one of those in a Ruger 77. It’s a fine cartridge.

I picked that one up new for $600, back in '03, when Kmart went out of business in Anchorage. Of all my rifles, that one has notched the most tags with 8 caribou, 4 moose, and 2 brown bears.
My stainless classic 375 I ended up with is from 1994 or so.

Mostly finished on these two.
I still need to regulate sights on both. The top needs the rear blade bluing, the bottom needs regulating & a full blue (I ran out of Oxpho)

Both are Husqvarna M46s in 9.3x57. The top rifle came with a badly cut, 20" barrel so i cut it back to 19 & recrowned it. This one's a gift for a buddy who's only real hunting interest is pigs in Florida, so velocity ain't a concern. It'll never take a shot past 50yds.
Trouble is, I kinda fell in love with how trim & nimble it is while I was putting it together, so i did another for myself, but with a 20" tube (it balanced just a hair better)

What kind of value would you place on these? As in, if you had to start over from scratch?

If I wanted to sell a completed gun? Maybe $500? Most of that is labor & additional parts though (front & rear sight bases & barrel band)
The top rifle i gave $150 for, the bottom was $275.

If you look up Simpsons Firearms, they import a bunch in different grades & retail them out at $250-450

Nice, although it’s got a ways to go in the ugly department, if you’re trying to match Phil’s rifle.
