Lets be honest

1997 Ford f350 7.3 powerstroke with 350,000 miles on it. (Gender neutral)
Nothing major done to it and still runs well. As someone else said....when you take it in for work, it's at least a grand.

My 2017 isn't any better. It's getting rebuilt right now at 105k

21 Tacoma manual V6. 35k trouble free miles. I read about the turd of an engine before I bought it. All true. The engine can barely accelerate to traffic speed on the interstate. I can't pass 18 wheelers going 75 when there is a headwind. Really. Not why I bought the truck though so it does what I need.
That made me laugh. I enjoyed your little soliloquy

where mostly toyota's in our family, owned chevy and ford in the past that were ok, but firm believer in Toyotas.
gen 2 tacos, gen 1 tundras and many 4runners, all been good to us!

My last 2 trucks have been Toyota tacomas.

Ordered a 2016 when they first came out, and put a little lift on it. Sold it around 52,000 miles no issues. Bought a 2020, and have 30,000 miles now zero issues on that.

2009 Silverado 5.3 with 206k

Runs solid, never left me stranded. Regular maintenance items needed for age and mileage. Burns a little oil but nothing crazy. Been running the Range AFM Delete and has helped a ton with oil consumption.

2009 Chevy 2500 6L great pickup. 230,000 mikes. In the last few years I replaced rotors and pads, ball joints and tie rods. Did have 3 busted bolts on the exhaust manifolds that I had replaced. Other than that it's been great. Wife has a 17 Chevy 1500 5.3L that's a nice ride but the dash flat screen thing acts up and the transmission clunks every once in a while. Trying to track down a highboy that'll be my ride someday!

2015 Ram 3500 Bighorn 6 Speed manual crew cab 121k miles on it. Love the truck but has also caused some headaches. Have replaced the following (in no particular order) front wheel bearings both sides (110k), turbo (75k), both nox sensors (40k, 60k), 20-30 lug nuts, batteries (115k) and the black plastic tailgate cap.

The lug nuts are odd the threads strip out of them and I always start them by hand, luckily the aftermarket cheep ones seem to be working but frustrating at $10 a pop. Turbo almost left me stranded in a big city.

Has anyone ran the 6.7 Power stroke with the Torqshift 6 transmission? I have heard some incredible stories about that rig going over 500k miles stock.

I’m on my 8th Ram diesel beginning with a 1991. 3 used 5 new. Over 100k on all except my current 2018. Never an issue with any of them beyond normal maintenance.
Same here but some of my Rams weren't diesel. I travel long distances just to get to my hunting areas so I want the creature comforts I can get plus maximum mileage out of each tank of gas. This is especially important when you are hours from a paved road for a week or two at a time. All my Rams lasted well over 150,000 miles except one that I really phuked up so I can't blame Dodge. I get one every 12-15yrs.
I am hard on my trucks...after hunting season the bumpers are hanging weird, the hillbilly pinstriping is disturbing to look at and one or two of the fender flares are usually broken (I keep a painted back-up set stored now) but my trucks are glorified wheel barrels. I am offroad alot and put the BDS suspension to the test. The inside has all the bells & whistles I like which makes a multiday drive to the trailhead much easier.

My Dad works on the gaser Rams and he really does like them. I have not spent much time in them. They do have some get up and go.

Depends on the generation. We replace a lot of valve bodies in the 11s and 12s in my shop.

Even with the steel bumper/winch, 35" tires, 6" lift and all the other crap I added and haul, it still gets great mileage. look at the speed and mileage my diesel got when returning from CO after a hunt.

I've owned Dodge diesels for the last twenty years. All have been the 5.9, two six speeds and one auto. I've done all the work on them except for a rebuild on the automatic. The auto which is an 06 I've got 505k miles on. I've logged almost 800k miles between the three trucks with the 06 logging half of it. Regular scheduled service is the key to longevity. I change engine oil at 250 hrs, trans oil and filter at 50k. If you want your turbo to last let your engine idle for 5 minutes before you shut it off, or if you have a pyrometer let the temp get down to 300 or below before shutting down.

Had a 2015 Silverado 1500 for a work truck.
Sure I drove it like I stole it but had what seemed like a high number of recalls.
Seat belt, sensor something or other, steering.
Anytime I drove in dust the filter would have issues. Ended up in some recall for that.
4wheel drive went out twice pulling out stuck people.
Would probably be a great grocery getter but like most newer trucks wasn't much for off pavement travel.
Was glad it wasn't a personal truck for sure.
