I am leaving tomorrow for Colorado, gonna hunt the 19th thru the 28th, the forecast for 11000ft (capital peak area) shows daytime highs around 50 and nighttime lows around 40. That seems like very warm nite temps to me, is this about what you guys out there are seeing? Is the bugling going hot yet?

Same thing where I am heading, last week had the same forecast and it was pretty close. Never had any ice, but had a little frost one morning.

I've been at 11,000ft for the last 3 days. Nighttime is a bit cooler than that, and daytime has been about 60. Tomorrow looks the same, but rain coming back in on Sat.

We got back from there on Sun, we had lows in the 30's at night at 11.5K one night of rain/sleet/snow....most days were 60 or under.

We didn't have any bugling going on but did see some. Good luck!

It's been too hot this week. I hate the heat. My elk hunt is a month away. Hopefully, some snow by then.

This past week was gorgeous up there! Loved it. Felt like 80 every day and very warm nights, never froze all week where I was. Some like it cold.......I do not. Elk have been bugling and have been cowed up for some time now, but they've finally switched over to rut mode this week........started about the 18th. I could sure smell the difference as well. Good time to be there. I'm hunting Central CO.

Expect rain over most of the higher elevations for the next 24 to 36 hrs.

Snow Above 11k iS likely.

I am at 11500 right now and it is about 55 deg, very little bugleing but there is fresh sign.
