Are the bucks like elk, are they hanging on north slopes primarily? I know they are where you find them but just looking at trying to focus on a starting point for this week.

I know an area that holds deer, however in the winter they tend to be on the SE facing slopes soaking up the sun when it's in the teens.

There is plenty of water in the area but i haven't ruled out trying to find a secluded spring instead of the main creek that has permanent water.

Thanks

Iv found them using their same “naked” SE facing bowls to bed in the summer... but it’s more of a NIGHT bed...Especially on smaller moons..You might be able to catch them early AM in these same spots but they likely will feed towards a little thicker face to bed as the sun starts to peak during the summer...

This is a bit of a guess on deer and what the terrain looks like but I always plan on most deer bedding down during the day on north facing slopes. In the early morning I catch them on south facing slopes. I have noticed the closer we get to September, the earlier they cross over from the south to north side. In July and August I can still catch them in the morning light, but as soon as a the archery hunts start, they're moving to bed in the dark and I may catch them just as they become visible in the scope. If I'm not paying attention at those critical moments I'll miss them all together.
