Huckleberry Finn, By Mark Twain -The audio recording of this book on Audible by Elijah Wood will blow your mind. Way easier to consume in an audio recording than in print. A Beast the Color of Winter, by Chadwick,-A must read for anyone hunting mountain goats

Born to Run, by McDougall- Motivation for anyone looking to run more or get into ultra running.

I don't and never have belonged to a political party, think extremists on both sides are mentally ill, but trying to understand why people today might still promote socialism in light of it's utter failings I read:

-Gulag A History by Anne Applebaum. She crams 150 pages of information into almost 600 pages, really a slog to finish it but worth it. Very well researched.

-Harvest of Sorrow, Soviet Collectivization and the Terror Famine by Robert Conquest.

Then

-Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy for the...we'll I've lost count.

I really appreciate the books mentioned by everyone, will have a reading list for a long time.

Last two have been by James Fenimore Cooper... The Last of the Mohicans and The Pioneers. Third was by Zane Grey... The Young Forester.

Just finished Ambroses Crazy Horse and Custer, I love western history.

Getting started on This time is different, 8 centuries of financial follies.

My wife’s great great uncle died with Custer at Little Bighorn. William H Baker. His name is on the monument there. He was only 27. We were doing some genealogy and found it. Pretty amazing.

Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors is a fantastic book. Another book of his, "Neptune's Inferno", concerning the night actions off of Guadalcanal is excellent as well. Highly recommend.

3) HALO: The Thursday War

I'm currently working through Josephus' "The Antiquity of the Jews". That one is really good but may take a while to slog through.

Empire of Liberty: A History of the Early Republic, 1789-1815, Gordon S. Wood. Great overview of the years after the Revolution. Lots of relevance to today.

Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions, Brian Christian and Tom Griffiths. Fun look at how computer science can inform everyday decision making.

Public Land Elk Hunting, Matthew Dworak. Very much a beginner's guide... but some good nuggets in there.

I am currently reading C.J. Box Savage Run. I am thinking about reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand or continue the C.J. Box Joe Picket series.

Unbroken is a hard one to get through just in terms of what those guys endured... but a great book.

Last one was Not Without Hope by Nick Schuyler. It's about 4 guys including 2 NFL players who went offshore in 2009 and only 1 came back. The book is Nick's account of what happened.

That Wild Country - Mark Kenyon
Tap Code - Carlyle Harris -about one of the first pilots/POW shot down in Vietnam, excellent book. He and his wife wrote the book and are both still alive.
A River Runs Through It - Norman McLean
The Twenty Ninth Day - Alex Messenger - A good book if you're into backpacking trips and methodical gear preparation and planning.
