Lapua .223 brass

Starline is good. Or just buy Berger factory ammo - gotta fire-form anyway and it's not much more than virgin brass plus primer plus powder plus projo...

I have 200pc of Lapua and couldn't find it anywhere last year. Ended up buying 1k starline so I'm all in on that. It's been treating me well and I don't get so frustrated if I lose one.

That’s exactly what I did as well. I still keep the lapua for my 233 match gun but my high pressure hunting loads I use the Starline.

Yeah I just went through this with Starline as well. No separations but I had a bunch with a ring around the center of the case. They replaced the brass with their 5.56 variation. Customer service was excellent but I was disappointed with the issue.

On a different note I also had some very loose primer pockets on some new Lapua brass. Also very good CS and they have replacement brass in route now. I did ask about .223 brass and he said “it’s on the boat as we speak.” This was last week for reference so it’s coming.

I'm using Lapua headstamp in my 6/45 only in order to avoid any issues with my other 223 stuff. I should be set now until the Lapua stuff starts showing up again. Good stuff and hoping it hits shelves again soon.

To be clear. The 1k pieces of starline I'm running are .223 rem and not 5.56mm. I don't think I'm running too hot but it's not a light load either. 24.6gr of varget with 75 BTHPs for my practice loads. I only have 3 reloads on some for testing but not a single problem yet.

Either way, great news on the lapua stuff coming in.

24.6 is warm but it’s not excessive.
I’ve been running 24.3-24.5 varget (even 25.3 with lapua brass) with 75eldm, 80eldm, 80.5 Berger and 80 smk at oals 2.495-2.535 out of range pickup 223 brass for years.
