Just wondering for the States that have seasons on Swans, what is your bag limit and season?
Just curious.
In Canada they are CLOSED yet I see thousands of them.

In Montana its a draw, one bird.I seem to draw a tag every other year. Sandhill cranes are the same but the tag seems harder to draw, I put in 3 year in a row without drawing and finally drew a tag on my 4th year of applying.

Hunt Texas for sandhills, if you get a chance. 3 bird limit per hunter, no draw, no preference points, no. bonus points, no outfitter welfare, etc etc. And great BBQ also.

Both dakotas are the same and probably easier to get on land. We don’t have the bbq though we do have kugen.

First post… but all of the other critters come behind waterfowl for me. Ducks, dogs, decoys, boats, the whole nine yards. Usually hunt my private spot, but nothing compares to hunting the MS river on public land when the whole thing comes together

I love waterfowl and whitetails about equally but I spend more days and money chasing ducks each year. I live in eastern NC and prefer hunting large open bodies of water for divers out of my skiff over anything else. Usually running 12-15 dozen decoys so I like whatever is on sale, I can spray paint them to look like bluebills and the ducks don’t seem to mind. Started hunting waterfowl when I was twelve. The local PD hauled me in riding my bicycle down Interstate 10 with a Western Auto 20 gauge across the handle bars at 3AM in the morning. My daddy was pissed and proud at the same time. I mostly hunted birds in Venice, Louisiana, primarily teal, Pintail, Model ducks, Wigeon. Spent ten years in timber in Central Louisiana where mallards were plentiful. I’ve hunted Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma and Canada as well. I’ve had a golden, a springer, a Boykin and the last was a Wachtelhund.

As age comes, sitting in a box stand with a heater calls me now! LOL

Oh and all with a Beretta 686 Onyx

Gady’s, Geese, Mallards and Pheasants once Elk/Deer season is done. Tactics all change based on the conditions mid to late bird season in MT. Gear wise, picked up an SX4 a few years ago after using an 1187 for decades, huge noticeable change.

I mostly hunt ducks, I don't target geese but if they fly by Im not passing them up.
I didn't hunt that much this year since I had kid #3 in November & the other 2 are young so home life is busy.
Read that mallards up in the Atlantic flyway so we might get a 4 bird mallard limit again for next season.
