I'm looking for the best raingear available since it rains a lot where I live. In the past I've used marmot precip and a bunch of random stuff but now I'm looking to invest in the top of the line.

I feel like it's sort of a wash between the 2 but maybe the Kuiu is more durable??? The big advantage to the SEAK is that it comes in solid colors so I could actually wear it in the city when I go there.

Has anybody compared these side by side? Pros and cons of one over the other?

I mostly use Kuiu and it works wel for me but I do have the first lite uncompaghre and a few of their wool things but that's about it.

Thanks!

Haven't used either, but I would think the seak is more durable. It is 3.5 layer.

I live in Western Oregon.
I have the Yukon jacket and really like it.
I don't know much about the FL SEAK.
I went with the Yukon over the Chugach because the Yukon is so durable and breathable it doubles as a Softshell. Basically it was cheaper and lighter than buying/carrying the Chugach and a guide jacket.
I have an XL and it packs down to about the size of a Nalgene bottle.
I hate rain pants with a passion, so I haven't got those yet. But I did get the Yukon gaiters and am really impressed with them.

This is sort of what I was thinking, I love my guide jacket but its sort of redundant and sort of big/heavy for a real pack in hunt I could use the chugach for a basic shell as well as serious rain gear. I also have the Yukon Gators, they are good to go. I switched to the yukon gator from the OR expedition croc which is also a good gator. As for pants, it rains like a bitch for hours/days where I live so I need them.

I have both Yukon and Chucach and think if you're looking for absolute bomb proof go Yukon,if you plan to hunt some in the rain Chugach is lighter and very good also. Most times(9 out of 10) when heading into bad weather I grab my Chugach and have never been disappointed.
Don't know about Seak

Seems like the Yukon is the way to go, I could relegate the guide jacket to times when Im not too worried about weight.

The Seak is a tough jacket. Wore it on two shitty(Brushy) elk pack outs last year. Tore my pants but the jackets dosen't have a scratch on it. I also wore it in some nasty rain/snow storms with zero issues.

Yukon is pretty bullet proof and extremely difficult to rip. Wouldn't call it a soft shell as it has no warmth value. Yukon pants are my go to in snow or rain, nothing better then having cargo pockets with a pack on. No experience with seak, kuiu has a pretty strong hold on the rain gear department. Good luck

I have the Yukon and give it two thumbs up. Keeps my dry in all day hard rains. I'd love to try the SEAk just compare.

Yukon has worked well for me the last two seasons, but I have never worn the FL. I don't really like the Kuiu camo patterns though, not that they don't work well enough, they are just kind of lame IMO.

I like the Kuiu vias pattern but I'm not int that verde/2.0 stuff. I guess it's cool but I haven't gotten into it.

I have the SEAK and it's great. Probably not a big difference. My biggest like on the SEAK was the weather resistant zippers vs the standard zippers on the Yukon.

I wish there was some way to check them out before buying. Bass Pro in Phoenix has some first lite stuff but no SEAK jacket.

No experience with the SEAK, so can't offer a comparison, but as others have mentioned, the Yukon is legit. It has kept me dry on multiple day hunts in the rain. I just layer appropriately and wear the Yukon all day long as my outer layer. It's comfortable enough to wear all day and quiet enough that I'm not worried about spooking animals.

Good luck on your search.

Wait.....
Since when does it rain like cats and dogs in Phoenix????
I understand you probably hunt other places that warrant the best rain gear possible.
I just thought it was funny that someone with the name New Mexican that's shops in Phoenix AZ needs the best raingear money can buy.
Just being funny. No bashing intended.
You just made a guy that lives in the Pacific Northwest giggle a little 😜😜😜

How is the Yukon sizewise? Does it fit over f ex a guide jacket, in the same size?

Ordering a size L Yukon, will it fit over when having a Peloton Size L, and Down jacket size L under?

my guide jacket in xl fits me well. my yukon in xl feels oversized/sloppy without a couple layers under it.
