I'm no KUIU fanboy, but with the 30% off, the Icon Pro is a heck of a deal. With that said, I'll take my Argali on my Hunter Duplex at 7 lbs. all day long. I've reviewed/field tested about every KUIU, MR, Stone Glacier and Kifaru pack made and from here on out my money goes to Kifaru. They are built like they are made for me and IMO their waist belt is the best design out there. Luke makes a good point in that not everyone needs a 100 lb. hauler, but if you plan on killing and hauling animals on a regular basis, I'll take the Mack Truck. For the guy that is going to do a bucket list hunt a couple times in his lifetime, the KUIU will work fine, but for a guy that is going to kill and haul on a regular basis, do yourself a favor and get a Kifaru.

I've tried both. Bought kuiu with the intention of selling my entire kifaru system and spending the extra cash on other gear. Just before putting the kifaru (I had a bikini at the time) on the market, I decided to compare both packs again with serious weight. I returned the kuiu pack the next day; despite the extra cost and weight and comparatively less stylish design, the kifaru was still the most comfortable pack I had ever worn. Now I have a hunting platform frame--just spent a week with 70lbs of gear in it--and it blows the bikini out of the water. Both companies make fine packs, but the lumbar and hipbdlt on the kifaru frame have no rival (except stone glacier, if you have a flat back--mine is curved).
