Wow, for that price, it could help change my mind about Kuiu packs. Especially if the frame holds up better than the Icon.

Looks like a mash-up of some Stone Glacier, some Kifaru and some Kuiu Icon all in one. Couldn't tell if they make any changes to the belt suspension. If the whole package runs $350 it will surely get a lot of attention.

if I want a bag like that I'll go stone glacier or kifaru highcamp. I really feel they shot themselves in the foot, one of the draws of Kuiu was the organization of the bags, which if I remember correctly Jason said he always would have. I also am not a huge fan of the clips that they seem to use now on the entire pack. I've been extremely happy with the buckles on my icon and can say those little tension clips can be a pain to do and undo especially with gloves. Supposedly the frame has a newer stronger frame... We shall see. The adjustment on the Harness looks innovative and easy to adjust.. The rifle carrier also looks good, maybe it can be used on a bow? 350 is a really good price for a bag that size, weight and if it lives up in durability. I love the outside vertical pocket on the Icon so I'm sure it's great on this pack as well. The top lid just looks like it does not belong there, looks large and sloppy, especially if the bag is condensed for day use, looks like they Just took it off the old icon bags. I think a side zip like on the MR metcalf would greatly increase the versatility of the bag. I'm not a huge fan of top loading bags only so another acces point would be nice.

Looks like a decent pack for that price point. The only concern I would have is the narrow frame. With a full load it seems it would barrel.

I'm willing to give it a try at that price point. I'll also reserve judgement until I've put a few miles on it. The forward thinking with carbon frames is still a good thing for the industry and we are in the Golden Age of technical ultralight hunting pack design...that is always a good thing.

Thanks for the video.

I cant view the video but from what ive heard and read its a simpler pack for guys who dont use a pocket for everything and use dry bags mainly. My original icon is a great bag but way too many small pockets that are empty when im using it. I bag probably %80 of my gear thats in my pack, so this pack is rt up my alley. I need a day pack so ill wait for the 1800 to come out. Also the rifle/bow sling is nice addition as well.

Will the hook & loop behind the torso pads provide enough "stick" to hold up 150 lbs? I don't mean all the time, just when you pop that belt loose.

I don't see why not.Looks the same as the h&L setup on the 12 and 13 icons, but with a new piece that replaces the webbing and 3 bar that went through the slot in the frame. That piece never attached to anything, it just made the shoulder strap track up and down and kept it attached to the frame when you undid the Velcro to make an adjustment. I've had over 100 pounds in the 7000 many times, and the Velcro held just fine.I didn't even break the frame! ;)

I've been heavily leaning toward saving up my pennies and getting one of the new Sky packs. But at $350, this thing just may get the nod.

Hook/loop is the only thing holding the harness on a Mystery ranch too.
Like the G hooks also, provided there are enough loops around the frame to make them useable.

Did he say it was made from 160D Cordura?

Yes. It seems OK, but take away foam from the straps to make it lighter? Please put the 4oz of foam back in my straps! I think that for a little more money, the Exo is going to be a much better pack and made in America.

Valid concerns. As far as the rifle carrier, it looked like you could put a bow in it but they also made the same thing that is bow specific but he didn't show it in the video. There is a side zip on the bag, right side, next to the rear vertical pocket.

Maybe I mis-understand barreling but with the carbon fiber frame sheet against your back I don't think thats possible on this pack.

With the KU series gone there is a wide open market for ultralight packs, using 160D might turn out to be a good solution for getting that extra weight savings and maintaining some durability.
