I run super warm, don’t need a bunch of layers. I ended up with a strongfleece 210 and peloton 240, and it seems redundant to have both. I’m usually a baselayer plus softshell or baselayer, midlayer and +/- softshell guy.

Any reason to keep both? The strongfleece seems more durable and breathable.

The SF is gonna be warmer and more durable, but the 240 is gonna cut wind better. If you're gonna wear a softshell over it, I would keep the 210.

240 is better at cutting wind so it goes everywhere with me. But the 210 still has a spot in my lineup where it can replace my softshell when its warmer out or I don't want the bulk. Sometimes wear it as a midlayer too if I plan on shredding off layers throughout the day.

I'm going back and forth between these two pieces as well. I've got a Guide DCS jacket already and am looking for something to toss on underneath it. I like that the Peloton 240 is a full zip but was worried about it being to similar to the softshell that I have. Would you all recommend going with the SF 210 then?

I sold my 240 in favor of the SF. But the 240 isn’t really a softshell. Wind resistant, but not abrasion/pick resistant and minimally water resistant.

I like the strong fleece as a mid layer and the 240 is my outer shell. A merino t shirt base, the strong fleece, and the hooded 240 will get me into the 20s here in Idaho with a puffy or my rain jacket over top when I stop to glass for awhile.

Where wind is not a factor how much warmer is the 210 sf then the 240... I'm trying to figure out which one I want of these 2 as well.

I'd love a visual representation of warmth, wind, and durability rating for all these mid layers and soft shells as well like the kutana hybrid, axis, etc!!! I'm trying to figure out through opinion which I want to try without ordering almost everything and having to send 2/3rds back.

It depends on how hot or cold you run. I run hot. The 240 was too hot to move in for me, but not for a lot of other folks. I much prefer the sf210.

I have both and prefer the 240. The body mapping or whatever they call it on the strong Fleece is mostly what I don't care for. I get that it's designed for use with a pack on but I typically want my fleece when I stop to glass, sit around camp, skinning, etc. My back gets cold with the strong fleece if I don't have my pack on and it doesn't stop the wind as well as the 240. Also the strong fleece has a velcro like effect when I try to pull it on over a wool shirt making it a pain in the butt to put on and get situated. The plus side to the strong fleece is it sheds water somewhat when walking through wet brush or in a light misting rain, it also dries faster. Pros and cons like everything in life.

The 240 is warmer and more wind resistant. For me it’s a outer layer and the 210 a mid layer. Make sure to go a size up in both if you don’t have stubby arms and a short torso.

That's funny because some others thought the 210 sf was warmer!!!

Is one quieter then the other?

If the 210 is cooler then the 240 I'll likely go this route and use my rain jacket for glassing in the wind if needed.

Sitting still they’re really close but just a little breeze and the 210 isn’t close as warm.

What about during exertion? Same applies with and without wind I assume?

Also curious on which would be quieter through reap rod when brushing against growing evergreens or any brush for that matter.

I’d say you’re overthinking it. They’re both fleece and make as much noise as fleece makes. Exertion and wind don’t change my personal subjective preference between the two.

How much do you need to size up on either of these? I'm pretty broad shouldered 6'1" and 49" chest. Little longer torso for my height but not overly long arms.

I wear an XL sitka thunderhead with minimal layers...

They’re both going to be quiet. Quieter than any human can be in re-prod haha. The string fleece however won’t pill and the 240 will. If that’s your plan for it I would get the strong fleece 260. It’s a good in the middle between the 2 and won’t pill busting brush. Also has a hood which Id consider essential anywhere you’re hunting re-prod because where there’s re-prod there’s rain.
