Kuiu posts regularly about avoiding scam sites on their social media. Their products are only available directly through their official site. Its likely a full time job for 1-3 lawyers to play whack a mole with these types of scam sites. You have to get them shutdown at the domain level which means dealing with various registrars such as GoDaddy etc, but these can also be hosted in other countries which makes it that much more problematic and sometimes impossible. All you can practically do is demand the registrars take these sites down, threaten lawsuits and send cease and desist orders.

OP — it may be wise for your buddy to cancel his credit card and request a new one. I would be more worried about the identity theft than I would be a one-time false charge.

I took it down just because it doesn’t need any exposure, more exposure can build more legitimacy in the algorithms for them. This sounds like the one I saw on Facebook and reported which they denied. I emailed it Kuiu and it was gone the next day.
Edit, I sent it to them.
