Any more opinions on the wind proofness/insulating of the jacket? Provided you had any cold weather.

Hey Tim, I’m two seasons in with my Proximity set now and I absolutely love it. I’ve had mine down below freezing and up into 60s, and for me it manages temperatures changes very well. It’s not 100% windproof in the sense that I can blow air through it if I try, but it’s very restrictive. I have not yet felt wind come through it in the field.

Most important to me, I’ve filled two buck tags with both deer inside of 15yds. Neither one heard me draw, noticed me above them, or smelled me. I think that’s a great testament to the quietness, camo, and scent control of the Proximity set.

I ended up ordering the Proximity Balaclava and Hand Muff this year and enjoy both of those pieces as well. Overall this set has been a home run for me for Midwest Whitetail hunting.

How would it hold up hunting Whitetails in -10F to say 32F? So typical midwest Whitetail hunting in Nov, Dec, Jan??? Hypothermia or stay comfortable in a stand seeing as it’s whitetail specific gear from Kuiu and that is whitetail weather for many of the best whitetail states in the country?

I’d say depends how you handle cold. I get cold easy once I’m up a tree and no way I’d use mine in temps in the -10 or even the 20s without some very thick base layers at which point I’m just gonna use my fanatic with lighter base layers. I’ve used mine in say 32-35 with the first lite furnace under it on the legs and same up top plus first lite merino short sleeve and there thin long sleeve merino over that and was comfortable. Hunted in Illinois with the temps around 15ish with 30 mph winds higher gusts with my fanatic set and just the first lite furnace top and bottom and was nice and warm even killed my best buck that morning…

I found them quite warm, but I layered well underneath. Definitely need to play with my layering as I made it 3 hours before I started to feel any cold and that was mainly because I wetted out the first hour sweating to death in them:ROFLMAO: Temp was 30* with rain, no wind.
