Looking at purchasing either the KUIU 240 Peloton Hoody or Sikta Fanatic Hoody.
Anybody have an opinion as to which is warmer? Is one more wind resistant then the other? More durable?

I'd love to know this too

I have briefly held the fanatic, it seemed thin so i dont think its very windproof at all and Im sure it was designed more as a mid layer for treestand hunting..

I have no opinion on the sitka... but i got my 240 last week and love it. Very light, good fit, not too thick, very warm, and very very wind resistant. I was hunting the breaks and riding my RZR about 20 miles in the dark and it blocked the wind very nicely even up to around 40 miles an hour. I am very happy with it. I havent completely put it though the paces, but i dont think I will have any regrets.

Hey Joe how would you compare it in warmth to FL Chama or any soft shell jacket. im looking to replace my soft shell but wind is always an issue for me where I hunt in the Sierra Nevada High country. and like you from time to time I use my Yamaha Rhino for transportation. so wind blocking is crucial.

I dont have any FL gear, compared to my sitka 90% jacket it is100% better for what i am needing. I am very surprised at how wind proof it is right now. I will say that its brand new and maybe that will break down some? Probably not as warm but much more comfortable to ear, easier to layer and a TON lighter to pack when it gets too warm,

I wore my Peleton 240 for 12 straight days in the Brooks Range, temps were day time highs in the upper 30's with snow most days. The Peleton performed great, I plan on buying another. I have never worn the Sitka Fanatic but it is warmer than the Traverse and 90% jacket and much warmer and more wind resistant than the Chama top. I layered it with a Chama as my next to skin, then Peleton, and then my Kryptek vest and usually rain jacket over that. I feel like with my style of hunting this setup would keep me warm into the single digits. You wont regret buying one.

I have had my 240 since mid August. Hunted about 20 days so far and have had this in my pack or have worn the 240 almost every day. It will block an incredible amount of wind. The wind will be howling and with the 240 on and a merino against skin all I feel for wind hitting me is on my legs. Last year I used the 2014 sitka 90% jacket and really liked the weight, warmth and quietness but the wind will cut right through it. I would say the 240 is similar or lighter weight material to the 2014 90% but will block the wind way better and breath as well or better. Most days all I need to wear is a 125 merino and the Peloton 240 even with temps in the 30's. The Peloton does have a very small amount of noise that has not yet gone away completely but I do feel it has dulled a little with some washings.

they are very different. the fanatic hoody is the same fabric as the core heavyweight. the peleton 240 is much more wind resistant. The sitka is a good base or second layer it's stretchy and breathable, but has some insulation value too. I wear my peloton over the core heavyweight when it's chilly out. if you don't need the facemask or mittens on the fanatic hoody, just buy the core heavyweight hoody or zip t and save some $$$.

Have the 240. I think it's a wind resistant as it gets without a membrane. Sold the guide jacket, this replaces it.

I agree they are two very different pieces. I absolutely LOVE the Fanatic hoodie. I've wore it as a layering piece and as an outer layer. The Fanatic is very versatile and functional. Love the pockets, hood and facemask. IMO the Peloton is just a hooded fleece sweatshirt. (had one but got rid of it)
