Hi everyone-
I'm Nate D AKA Jim Dandy. I'm from Northern California, just North of the SF Bay Area. I've been hunting since I was about 10 years old, mainly waterfowl and CA Blacktails, The Ghost of the Coast. I recently took up black bear, and have yet to be successful. I hunted the Yukon in Canada in 2024 for moose, and killed a nice 54" bull, using my dad's 1961 Remington GameMaster in .30-06 with handloaded 200 grain Accubonds. It changed everything for me and I'm back for moose in Alaska in 2027. I'm a trained chef, butcher and have a heavy hobby of meat and fish smoking, curing and preservation. I make all my own sausages and seasoning blends. I'm a simple brush hunter and traditionalist, and love all kinds of outdoors nostalgia and heritage. There is so much great help and info on this site, I figured it was high time I joined up. Thanks for having me. Here's my Yukon Moose.
