Kuiu Northstar Glomitt vs FL Grizzly 2.0 Trigger Mitt

Does anyone have experience w/ either of these gloves?
Pro/Cons? A better option - like to keep it under $150.
both have same price point - trying to decide if one is better than the other or just a toss up?
Looking for a good late season glove for glassing here in CO as well as winter snowshoeing to throw over some liners.
Looking for warmth - don't care as much about being able to slide into a trigger guard.

2 weeks ago I had the same debut. I ordered the FL grizzly 2.0 and when I got them I was totally disappointed. The leather was cheap, and the wool liner looked fake. Very thin material that would snag easily.
I sent them back for a refund.

I stopped by REI and they had a pair of Hestra 3 finger gloves in my size and they are well constructed and will be much warmer. Total quality over the hunting brands. Check them out. Outdoor research also makes some decent trigger mitts and gloves. Be sure to give them a look.

Cosign the Hestra recommendation. Those are far and away much better than the gloves made by hunting brands.

Agree on Hestra but also check on Black Diamond guide glove in three finger versions.

FL grizzlys let me down, my hands especially the pointer finger were freezing

If I may, I hate it when folks offer suggestions unsoliciited...but. ive been down this road, and I wasted alot of $$ looking for the right gloves. I hunt late season CO and I am always getting cold.

I've had puffy glassing mitts, OR super-dooper liner/goretex fancy gloves, wool gloves, etc, tried it all.

Before you drop that kind of money, consider heading to murdochs and grab a pair of the Kinco's insulated mitts for $25. I would bet good money that they are warmer and more comfortable than anything you will find for 4x's that price. I wear a thin wool liner under them so my fingers don't freeze if I need to take the Kinco's off to tie boots, load a mag, etc.

I dont normally go cheap, but I will be a fan of Kinco's for life after wearing them last winter.

Kincos are hard to beat, though they are heavy. I use them quite a bit snowboarding.

I do have some FL Grizzly trigger mitts though they are the 1st generation. I have used them a good bit for 5 years and they are holding up well. As mentioned above, the leather isn’t that great of quality, nothing near what KUIU uses for leather palms, but it’s held up well. I wash the shells in Techwash annually and apply mink oil to the leather. Good design for comfort but take up a lot of volume in the pack.

Been using the northstar glomitt for 2 seasons and have been generally impressed. For the record I am not a big fan of kuiu’s glove selection.

The northstar glomitt is very warm and very dry. Comes up nice over the sleeves of your jacket, keeps snow out. Used it more for shoveling, snowblowing, and snowmobiling than for hunting so far. Its straight up bulky but I can barely fit my finger in an average sized trigger guard. Build quality and material is high end feeling. Very comfortable and roomy. I bought them for severe winter use when its below freezing and wet - i am not disappointed.

The other winter gloves I wear that are cheap, warm, but not waterproof, are thick fleece gloves from cabelas. They are warm down to 0* and very water/wind resistant being fleece. Not bulky and dry quickly, good for dry snow, bad for rain. I use these during winter pheasant hunting in sodak where Im moving a lot and need to be able to feel shells to reload quickly. I sometimes wear a liner beneath either selection for added warmth or to help shed moisture so they dont wet out - i tend to sweat a lot. Also helps with cold shock when removing them.

I used those exact kincos last year for CO 2nd rifle.. My guide forgot his gloves one day and I gave him my pair I had for that hunt. He was thankful and could use them more than Ill probably ever know.
