I think Shrek is paid by a competitors company to bask Kuiu. He has bashed every product ever mentioned from Kuiu and I doubt he has owned them all.

I think he just dislikes KUIU. I own most of KUIU's products but do dislike all the KUIU Cult type people who believe KUIU can’t do wrong. I dislike the fact they moved to China but that is a $$ move and can’t blame them. The backorder issue still bothers me (Ordered 2 sets of the new gloves and the Vias L won’t be available until NOV but that’s too late to launch a new product this year so just go ahead and do it anyways) Other than that I use a combo of FL and KUIU.

They will become Huge and people will dislike them for that and someone out there somewhere is working on a new brand that will compete and overcome KUIU in the future. It’s just the nature of things it may not be for 5-10 years but it will happen I believe KUIU is just getting started and they will BLOW UP BIG in the market in the next 2 years. But all it will take is a new Technology on a fabric that is owned by someone else and it will start all over again. I love it better clothing for me!!!!!

LJ it looks like your dislikes are not related to performance with the exception of the pack. I think Kuiu is pretty big already. When watching or reading about hunting Kuiu is being used all over.

No , unlike you I'm not in anyone's wallet. The tell was the fact that Jason showed you the new pack a month before it was released and you had pictures up on Rokslide as soon as it was released. In the least you are deep in Jason's innerrectum club and getting a very steep discount or just plain gratis. Typical sociopathic behavior to attribute your conduct to others . My distaste for Kuiu comes from being mislead....aka lied to. Sleazy company and the company they keep....

Whoa buddy, that is a pretty broad statement. Does that mean that because I have KUIU clothing I'm sleazy? I really resent that statement and take it very personal when my character is slandered. Especially over something as stupid as this. I would suggest that you do as most mothers have recommended over the course of time. If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all.

I do think they make some of the best clothing on the market in Camo. If you want Mountaineering gear not in camo plenty of companies make clothing that is equal or better. They don’t own the technologies they use.

They are pretty big but this is the first year they have started to advertise so they will see the growth from all the marketing in the next 2 years. I would imagine you will see a serious competitor just start to emerge about that time.

I'm on the verge of buying a new harness and I'm leaning toward the kuiu. For those that have used it I hear the only drawback is not having the second chest strap to keep it in place a little better. I'm curious how hard it would be to sew one on if I buy it and feel like I need it. I'm also curious how hard it is to detach the binos to put them on a tripod? Can I buy some little quick detach buckles as add them to the system? Thanks

I also played with adding a strap. I don't think it would be that hard, but I learned to like it OK as is and just haven't messed with it anymore. Its easy to detach the binos to put on the tripod but getting them back on is a pain because the straps fall off your shoulders and you have to get them situated to clip the binos back on the harness, which usually means taking the harness off for me. This post has made me want to mess with adding a strap again. I have used the FHF and KUIU and I like the KUIU more for comfort and for getting the binos in and out but I wish it the strap configuration like the FHE on the front there where your talking about. I think it would be a perfect bino harness if it had that strap...

I meant specifically the guys who carry marketing water for Kuiu on a site that has had a disagreeable separation from kuiu. I personally think but don't know for an absolute truth that there are several employees marketing here . In my mind that is stealing from the owners of Rokslide. Hate them like I hate any other thief.

Between our little hunting group ( justin, Brock and myself) we have the kuiu, FHF and Sitka bino harnesses on our hunts. They all seem to work just fine and function a bit different. I've seen nothing of the other two that makes me want to switch from my Sitka and I'm betting justin and Brock would share the same sentiment. If you think it looksike your cup of tea buy it, you'll probably like it . If you don't send shrek a pm and see if he wants it. I've got a feeling he's kinda like those in the closet homophobes that really really hate gays cuz they are themselves. But with kuiu gear not man kissing...as far as I know anyway

In an effort to keep this thread open keep the posts about the kuiu bino harness. If you don't like the harness based on actually using it feel free to state why. If one just doesn't doesn't like the company and that is the sole bases for not liking it without seeing it in person it isn't adding value to this thread. Thanks!

OK, I will probably get bashed for this... but I shouldn't it is JUST MY OPINION. I have had BOTH sizes of KUIU harness and pre ordered them. Apparently I may have to post pictures and receipts for this post to have any cred. I have OWNED (not picked up and looked at in a store, or read about) harnesses by KUIU, S4, Badlands, Sitka, FHF, and crooked horn. I am obviously looking for the best one out there because there is something about each that I hate. I have settled on the FHF after wearing all of them extensively.

For what its worth... KUIU is the closest to "perfect" design out there, the problem is, the part that they leave out, makes it so far from perfect in my eyes it is completely ridiculous.

Answer this question... for those of you that have the KUIU and love it or hate it.... would putting light weight straps from the harness to the bottom of the pouch make it better? The answer is a resounding YES!!! Period. There is ZERO advantage to not having the straps work that way other than shaving maybe an ounce. What would the advantages be? You would not have to cinch the thing down like you are getting ready to ride a bull in a rodeo to make it functional. You wouldnt have to adjust it with every layer change. You would be able to take your binos off and put on a tripod and not have to be a contortionist to reach the buckle if you move.

Yes you CAN get it super tight and adjust it and fiddle with it, and make it OK to work with one hand.... but then you take a jacket off and you have to start over. Try wearing a slick shirt (like an under armour heat gear) shirt alone with it, you cannot get it tight enough to function with one hand. I know some of you are going to say "i dont hunt in that" but some of us use our binos for more than hunting and i dont always wear camo when shed hunting and scouting.

I am not saying it is the worst ever... but i cannot believe it went though an R and D phase with any sort of prototyping before that thing came out. There is NO advantage to not having straps, so why not put them on there? I will omit my answer because it will sound like KUIU pack bashing about crap/no r and d.

My opinion, if they fixed that, it would be hands down the best.... until they do, it will not be on my chest and I will not advise anyone who asks me get it. That said my wife still has hers because she likes the ram emblem on it.... go figure.

The fact is that everyone is different and likes different things... Just because you like it does NOT mean that you are right for everyone. Get over yourself. I hate it, you love it... who cares? Thats why there's 10 options out there for you.

I've tried them all... basically... And I am with FHF for now. I have not tried the alaskan guide one because it is more than I want... but i hear great things about it. I really want to try the new eberlestock one. Opens the right way, full coverage, quiet material, full harness, no zippers, looks like it will hold extra stuff... but not too much, and comes in lots of cool patterns haha. I will be getting one asap and will let you guys know.
