Just ordered a couple of their new bags. Look nice, worth checking out.

I just received my small bone out bag and 4 med quarter bags. Much better built than tags or anything else I've seen. Well worth the money, IMHO

I'm thinking about buying a set but not sure which combination to go with for elk. What do you guys think? Will be using the gutless method.

snomoB, could you please elaborate on what makes them much better quality than tags? I haven't seen the kuiu bags but I have packed multiple elk and deer with my tags and can't think of their shortcomings for their given weight and intended purpose. Thanks

They didn't put a seam at the bottom of the quarter bags so that is a plus. I don't have any but thought that was a good idea.

I got to play with them in the show room last week. Non were for sale yet, but they looked good. I'll be trying them out.

The TAG bags will carry all of the meat you can put in them in my exerperience and are very light & compressible. That is all I care about, other than breathability and not letting in blow flys. So unless Kuiu has come up with some advancements in breathability, I personally can do without all of the window dressing and extra weight on the bags. I understand however, that some people may like to have their stuff bedazzled.

I think the right sized quarter bag will be nice for guys that pack meat between the frame and bag, as long as they are like tag bags and hold it all together,

I would have a concern with the zippers. They look like a potential failure point. I could see them getting gummed up with meat and blood. I guess time will tell...

I must not if looked close enough, I didn't see any zippers?

The boned out meat bags have them, the quarter bags do not.

I was disappointed with my first experience with the tag bags when hanging boned out moose quarters. On returning to where I was hanging the bags, the three I hung previosly all failed and fell to the ground - the cord just snapped ( probably from swinging in the wind) Also the stitching on the Kuiu bags looks to be much stronger, and the bag has no bottom seam to blow out. The Kuiu bags also have several attachment points for hanging/lashing. Very well thought out design, I don't care what bags others are using, I am just impressed with the design and functionality of this product. Well done Kuiu!

Yeah I remember, too bad your first experience was during a material defect period but if I remember Larry offered to replace your thrown away bags based on your word.

Sounds like we'll have a good chance to hear how the Kuiu perform after this year. I'll stick with my TAG bags as they have held up great over the years and weigh substantially less.

Having a big opening (length wise) to put boned out meat in sure could be nice at times. I echo the thought that the zippers might struggle once you get blood etc into them.
Im looking forward to hearing how they perform for folks this fall.

I thought the same exact thing....I can't imagine putting a zipper on a meat bag. I accidentally put a 2" tear in a kifaru meat Baggie last year, and you know that thing is tough.

And substantially less money as well. But whatever trips a guy's trigger I suppose.
The way Larry has treated me and how he handled the defects, I doubt I will use anything else.
