I have used Allen bags in the past and worked fine. Tried Argali this year for the weight savings. Like the bags and the weight savings but had a quarter bag tear easily from a little snag. Ripped a 2-3” tear in the bag. The bag still held the quarter just fine with the tear.

Argali bags are awesome. They dry fast and are probably as light as possible without becoming fragile.

I also have Caribou Gear bags, they are heavier and don't dry nearly as fast.

Edit: Reading some earlier posts. I see drying and sticking to meat with the crust as a good thing.

My buddy has trashed some Argali bags, I'm still using a set I bought 4 years ago without anything more than the reflective logo fading.

I have had close to 20 animals in my set of Caribou bags and not a single issue. No holes that I can think of. Wash in dish soap and cold water and they clean up great. I believe I have the Wapiti set. Not the lightest and don’t pack down as small as maybe the some others but I stuff them in the bottom of my pack and never think about them again until I need them. My set fits great in a SG camp pocket with a contractor bag and some 550 cord. I have definitely got my money out of them and will get another set when the time comes.

The Wapiti set has been great for me because it works for everything I might put in them. If I was looking to only have a set for boned out meat, I would just buy 5 of their cape or muley quarter bags and be done with it.

I used the TAG bags for several years and liked them. Been using the SG bags since they came out, and really like them. The handle is surprisingly useful, and they’re easier to hang than any other bags I’ve been around.

Hanging each quarter with an Exo would get expensive pretty quick.

Bomb proof but a set of five only weighs, 11 lbs and costs 1200 dollars… last game bags you will ever need to buy though…

The argali bags are just too fragile and very expensive to have to replace after one use. I went back to caribou bags that were used probably 10 animals and still hole free.

How many pounds of boned out meat do you think a medium SG bag will hold?

Another vote for Argali. Especially for backpack hunters. They are very light but with that quality comes the potential for being fragile.

VIAM are great as super tough and clean up easy. Only problem I found was an idiot meat processor who cut my cinch cord and had to redo it.

Another vote for VIAM. They are very light and durable and clean up easy. I've used mine on several animals.

Looked to me that they only had 26 people review likely half got the product for free and most never put an elk in them.

Interesting design with a roll top and sewn in side carrying strap. I'd personally stay with a more traditional design but that's i use them now and hang them from the cinch string.

On my 2nd set of Caribou after many years with the 1st set, bought the magnum set this time.
Bought some Allen back country a few years ago and they were too small.
Partner had argali, odd material and seemed fragile but they didn't tear. I noticed he didn't have them this year.

Vac seal whatever you get, they get small when you do that.

I’d think at least 80 pounds of loose meat. But I’ve never weighed a full one. That’s just a guess. It’s probably their best size for packing boned out meat on a pack frame.

I purchased the Large Kit for elk/moose. It came with 2-medium bags. I’d like to get a couple more of that size for versatility when hunting deer, sheep, etc.

That's more weight than I want to carry at my age! Im mainly looking for bags that will carry an entire boned out blacktail or half a dall ram or caribou so the size seems about perfect. Plus I like the handle on the bag.

My caribou gear bags have been used for half a dozen moose, several caribou, and some other random stuff, deer etc. I poked a hole in one bag with a sharp broken moose rib. I sewed it back up and it’s been good to go ever since.
