Dalibor Lightweight Soft Shell Pants
My mini review
First the bad.
A 4 day hunt with my new kryptek gear turned both good and bad. In the first 4 hours of the hike getting to our base camp I noticed threads beginning to unravel.

By the end of day two I noticed my gum was no longer in my pocket and saw why rather quickly. The stitching was undone creating a hole about 2 inches wide at the bottom.

By day three the other side was the same but unraveled at one of the top corners.


I was not pleased to say the least.

On the up side the fit and the overall comfort of the pants was great. I would have prefered the lighter Valhalla but this was what I had. The material held up great just not the stitching. The added knee pads were great for stalking/crawling.
My friends had sitka core hoody which is stitched with a silver thread for odor resistance. I was amazed at how much more my top cloths smelled compared to theirs. They had not one seam failure in the sitka Ascent pant and the only hole produced in the sitka clothing they wore was from a knife.




I'll be sending in the pants to see if they will repair or replace them and let everyone know. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Pants are washed and in the mail, now its a waiting game to see if they will warranty them.
Is there not many people wearing kryptek or did I just get a poor pair? Anyone care to chime in on the durability they have experienced.

The ageis jacket I have has held up well. Pretty confident you have a new pair headed to you soon. I have a few pieces but just not much use on them yet to give good feedback. Ill probably order the eidar jacket as thats all I really need this season.

There are a number of people wearing it, some of the older stuff had issues but the newer stuff has been great for me but I only have one season under it all so long term durability I have yet to determine.

the valhalla are bomber pants. great for warmer weather. first gen sucked at pilling but the new ones are great. they should warranty those.

Shouldn't be an issue, they are what I use and are my favorite pant now.

ive got some miles on the alios and valhalla and both are holding up well so far. really like them both.

Thats good news about the Valhalla...as I've had my eye on those for early season lightweight trips. I think the mandrake will be a great match for our green environment here in South East. I'm going to wait until I hear back before ordering. Thanks for the feedback I'm glad to hear my pair is not the norm!

I've sen a pocket just fall right off one of those pants before. It was pretty funny, cuz it wasn't my pants

Ive had zero issues with my and used them maybe 20-25 days this past season.

I have wore all that are spoke of above. There were some stitching issues early on that have been addressed. I have not had any of these issues with any of these sets other than the first run of pants in 2012. They have all been good since.

Lemons are present everywhere. I am sure Kryptek will take care of you.

I wore the Dalibor pant for 12 days on my Alaska Sheep hunt last year and again on a 7 day elk hunt. No issues what so ever! Wore the knee pads the entire time and they came in handy on several occasions. I think you got a lemon set of Dalibor pants and am sure Kryptek will replace them for you. Like Jared all of my clothing from last years line-up have been flawless. Congrats on the buck by the way!!

Kryptek Clothing

I too made my first "mountain" trip with my Kryptek this past week. The trip was an Alaska Dall Sheep hunt. I have worn Kryptek for a couple years now, but mostly for whitetails. My mountain hunting clothing was originally Sitka and most recently KUIU. I wore Alaios and Dalibor pants. Kryptek Wool undergarmets, the Kratos and Koldo jackets and Posiden pants. A couple of my observations:

*Compared to Sitka and KUIU, the Kryptek pants don't breath well at all. This for me was the most glaring observation.
*I abused both pair of pants wearing the knee pads constantly and only the Dalibor has a small tear in the seat from a sharp rock. Stitching looks good on both pair.
*The Kratos and Koldo Jackets worked great and look great after daily wear.
*I did not take the Posiden pants out of my pack as it never rained.
*I also wore the gloves and stocking cap and they were fine, as was the wool.

In summary, I will continue to wear the Kryptek for my whitetail hunting, but will more than likely stick with KUIU in the mountains. I just feel overall the fabrics and materials KUIU uses are superior. Here I am "decked out" coming off the mountain.

As littlebuf mentioned above, I had some stitching start to unravel on the lower leg pocket on a brand new pair of Alaios pants last year. I pulled on the loose end and the stitching "unzipped" all the way around the pocket and I tossed it in the fire. For me it wasn't a big deal, because I didn't like those pockets in the first place. Littlebuf and Brock did get a good laugh at my expense though. When I got home I cut out the stitching on the other pocket and also cut out the "straps" for securing the knee pads. I have since put a lot of miles on that pair of pants and also a set of the Vahalas without any issues.

My new kryptek Kratos had some pretty poor stitching around the cuffs. There were about a half dozen spots where the stitching missed the binding (stretchy ribbon-like fabric around the cuffs) entirely. Kind of disappointing given the pretty penny I paid.

I gave them some new stitches and if the rest of the jacket holds up like I am hoping, I will overlook the flaws. If not it will go back.

Unfortunately, as with most items that get very popular, quality goes by the wayside to pump out enough product to meet demand.

Just an update for those who care.

I had not heard anything from Rainy Pass (Krypteks repair) so I called them. They stated that Kryptek was going to replace the pant which is great but that was several weeks ago. So I've got a call into Kryptek now had to leave a message. You would think they would follow up with you and let you know yep no worries valued customer we are replacing your pant and will have your new pair to you on this date. So far customer service is lacking.

I also posted some reviews on their site. All were positive except for the one on these pants. I recieved and email back telling me to send them in for repair and they may even replace them. Funny but all my reviews were posted to the site except the negative one....so whats to point of having reviews if they screen all of them and only post the positive ones.

Ordered Valhallas for early season this year. They shipped pretty quickly however I noticed similar poor craftsmanship. At least three leg/knee seams were poorly stitched with lots of excess thread balled up and hanging. A few of these stitches also looked like they missed their mark resulting in stitching gaps. They went back and I went with a pair of Kuiu Tiburons instead. I'll steer clear of Kryptek in the future. Their QA/QC process is broken.

My sample size of one with the Canadian made kuiu puffy had missing stitching and uncut longer threads. I have deemed it statistically insignificant to make a determination on kuius qa/QC processes. Meanwhile I haven't had any issues with any of my kryptek gear.

I can also go to sportsman's and go through any clothing lines racks and find something wrong with it as far as stitching is concerned.
