Kowa TSN-774 Spotters at Optics Planet under $1400

I just picked up a Kowa Prominar TSN-774 straight spotter with 25-69 wide angle eye piece for under $1,400 with a 10% coupon and their existing sale going on. This is way cheaper than I could find this spotter anywhere else!

Anyone thinking they are clearing these out because a new fluorite 66mm lens will drop soon making the 773/774 less desirable? I’ve heard rumors of it online. It’s tough not to pull the trigger at this price but if the fluorite 66mm can have the same performance but weigh less I’d hate to have buyers remorse.

My guess is that the price is only for the body, they will claim it’s a typo that includes the eyepiece.

I got the same email, but it says my order is processing on the website. It shows the body and eye piece. Optics planet has given me some great deals over the years, they’re just not super fast to ship. Hoping all goes well!

No particular credible source. There’s multiple threads on here and snipers hide with different individuals mentioning Kowa is developing one. It could just be a rumor, but the 663/664 doesn’t get a lot of sales compared to the 55, 77 and 88. The 66 also has been released for over 10 years and is due for an update.

The 66 is the entry level package if they upgrade it they will be competing with thier own 50mm. Anything is possible I guess

I'm going to guess that orders are on hold because they realized they made a mistake in listing these as complete scopes and not just bodies. Optics Planet is great at pulling stunts like that. All they do is drop ship anyways.

I believe the 601/602 is their entry level spotter but the 663/664 has the same body glass as the 77 series. The only bummer is the 66 eyepiece has inferior glass and narrower FOV than the TE-11 on the 77 series. If they redesigned the 66 to fit the wide angle TE-11 I think they would have an excellent scope at a moderate price.

I’ve made multiple orders and received everything. A couple items took longer to get than normal and now they give you an idea on how long it’s going to take to get your order before you pay.

I stumbled on this yesterday and picked up the 774 with eyepiece for like $1,550 after discounts. I've ordered on Optics Planet before and always had good luck so hoping this is the same. They sent a sales order with lead times and they had the body and eyepiece separated. Couldn't believe the deal when I saw it but hoping it goes through!
