TSN 501/502, Nikon ed50, vortex razor 11x33, etc.. Looking for a lightweight backpacking spotter that wont break the bank. Not trying to score antlers from a mile away, just get a better/closer look than my 10x42 binos will. 2 pounds and under. Whatcha got?

The Nikon ed50 is your best bet for budget lightweight spotter. Check eBay
Those do seem to get a lot of good reviews. Looks like they are often sold without the eyepiece...I'm assuming those are the ones on ebay at the $300 mark. Then some are over $800, i assume those come with the eye piece? I read that you can change out eye pieces to get more zoom than 13-30x (but would you want to with a 50mm objective)? Nikon's website is not very helpful and I cant seem to just find the eyepieces for sale..

Yea most on eBay are w/o the eyepiece. The standard eyepiece is 13-30x and the mcII eyepiece is 13-40x which is super nice.

I’ve got a Kowa TS 501 angled eyepiece spotter for sale $250 shipped. It’s in good shape with box. I always kept it wrapped in a cheap diy neoprene scope cover that will come with it.

thats tempting, Im leaning towards the straight eye piece the more I think about it as to not have to adjust the tripod going from binos to spotter... If it were more of an honest glassing scope I think i would prefer the angled to change up body position from binos. Def keep that in mind tho, thanks for posting
