Anybody used Kowa's, or another manufacturer's (Hawke has a similar setup) DSLR/Mirrorless, adapter systems? The convenience of smartphones to pop on/off a spotter to capture photo and video is hard to argue with but I'm not super happy with the image quality - particularly with photos. Have been pondering a new long lens, the 200-600mm with a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter, for my A6700 but toying with idea of a trying a new Kowa spotter with their setup for DSLRs/Mirrorless camera bodies. I am definitely more interested in getting good quality images than I am just capturing shots thru the spotter so interested if anyone has any real world experience. A few years ago I tried the Novograde setup on a DSLR and thought it was junk...wondering if Kowa's setup is any better.

I bought a DSLR adapter for my Kowa 88, and unless I am outdated, the body is what the adapter attaches to and the spotter is effectively the lens.

It worked well and took good pics. I was hoping to catch one of the bald eagles that frequents my lake in the winter but I was too busy hunting deer to spend any real time doing the photography side.

I have since gotten away from the DSLR adapter and just use my ollin adapter for my phone when I want to take pics. I am sure there are differences in the phot quality, but for my amateur self, I found the ease of use of the ollin way more beneficial to the DSLR adapter.

What??! You bought a piece of equipment and didn't really use it? Never heard of such a thing! 🤣

Yah, for sure you cannot argue the convenience of the phone adapter setups. Thanks for the reply!

Have the adapter for my 77x models. Took it with me to Glacier NP. Was pretty sweet. Wish I had practiced more so I could have taken better pics. Glad they make one and that I have it. pm me with questions if you want.
