HI There thinhorn ,aggh that's a shame.
Tell me what you would pay for this I don't really know what to ask for.I have read some previous posts saying that you can buy Montana stocks from Kimber for $475 and the Sub alpine is a superior stock is it not?

I guess it would all depend on WHY I actually had that kicking around, pretty random thing to have, did you buy another stock for your kimber or what???

You are right, kimber sells them for ~ 475, not sure what I’d even ask, I’ve never seen a kimber stock for sale on the secondary market since IMO they are as nice as the high end shipping old companies (McMillan, manners) and I also don’t think anybody really makes an aftermarket stock for a kimber.

My advice, is there’s a kimber rifle group on Facebook, maybe somebody there has a nice wood stocked kimber and they want something like that to make it more of a user. I guess, again it depends on how you got it, I’d think 3-350 would move it, just have to find the right buyer.

Also to add, that’s the same stock as the Montana stock, just painted. Not sure if I’d say it’s superior, all depends on the person buying, it could be a pro or a con depending on the individual.

Ok fair call in the regard to the structure of the stock but to me it looks cooler than that of a plain stock so in my mind yes it's better.

If it's not blemished I would think you could get 350 (give or take) for it?, especially from someone that is more of a fan of the sitka pattenr than I. The problme with those, the ascents and adirondacks is that finish is boarder line garbage and doesn't withstand near the abuse the solid color montana or ascent stocks do. The camo wouldn't be a price raiser in my eyes (if anything the opposite) but may to others.

I was quoted a similar price from kimber for a replacement montana stock. Trying to think about it from my own standpoint if someone had a perfect, never shot montana 8400wsm stock for $350 I'd consider it, I'd be all over it for $300. If you start asking close to the full price I'd personally start looking at other, after market options for not much more.

my $.02

Pendleton composites makes a stock for kimber rifles. I’ve got one on my 338 win mag.

I picked it up used for about $300 with bottom metal. I sold the Montana stock off my rifle for $400ish. Seems there aren’t a ton of guys looking to buy them but there’s the odd guy who wants to change their wood stock for synthetic. I then had to send that Pendleton back to have the LOP extended by an inch and a quarter because the previous owner had it built with a short LOP for his T. rex arms. That cost me $75 for the extension and to have it repainted but it was certainly worth it.

No I would be keeping it as still using the rifle. It's all internal anyway so its only the magazine box and spring,no floor plate.
