Will Tikka 6.5 CM work in XLR Element Tikka LA chassis?

I have a Tikka 6.5 CM and Tikka 7 PRC. I’m considering getting the XLR Element chassis, and it would be ideal if I could get the Element Tikka LA chassis and fit both my rifles, so I can swap back and forth. Is there a way I can make the 6.5 CM reliably work in the LA chassis?

How about if I added a Tikka .223 to the stable. Could that be made to work too?

Does it use Tikka bottom metal and mag? I run 260 in Tikka long action and Tikka long mag (300 length)

I ran my 6CM using 300WM AISC mags for an NRL match. It was a conversation starter I had intended to use my 6.5PRC but the action was slow to return from nitride, hence the magnum magazine. I tuned the lips to get the CM to work. I’d say it was 85-90% effective. Not perfect, but definitely serviceable.

So something like a 30-06 LA mag would probably get’r done

Xlr chassis are AICS mags. Having said that, I would imagine 6.5 creedmoor should feed out of a standard cartridge LA magazine ( 270 win, 30-06 and other) but I am not positive.

No issue with the CM using 30-06-length mags, as others have said. The 223 AICS mag is the same size as the 6.5/308, but it is smaller than the 30-06/PRC mag, so I do not think there will be any way to make the 223 work in the LA chassis other than single feed.

You will need the 3.56 length AICS magazines if you select the LA inlet, and for the CM, the 30-06 and similar will be able to be tuned to work great. Happens all the time. You will not be able to get the 223 to work as others have said other than single feed.
