I recently purchased a supertarp for sheep hunting in northern BC in August and early September for the weight savings over a Hilleberg Unna. I'm aware water may be an issue, but would it be a deal breaker? My biggest concern would be the insects. What's everyones experience? I have hid in the Unna when the bugs were bad and there was no wind. Is it do-able with the supertarp and annex, or do I accept the extra weight as necessary?
Thanks

I find that after the middle of August the bugs usually aren't too bad above tree line. I do use a Bora Gear bivi that has mesh that can be zipped over your head. 95% of the time I sleep with the mesh open.
