Kifaru Spike Camp question

I currently own the Kifaru T2 and BHC4800. I want to purchase a smaller day pack. I am thinking the Spike Camp would be better option and addition to my pack line over the Late Season since the Late Season has the same volume as the T2 main bag. My only concern is the 22" stays on the Spike Camp. Can I get enough lift on the shoulder straps? I am 5'10". Do to an old neck injury I need to keep the weight for the most part on the hips as it should be. Weight on my shoulders over a period of time gets to be a pain. The lift system on the T2 and Biki rock. Thank you kindly!

What height stays do you have on your t2 and bikini? Take whatever they are and drop the lifter slider down to 22in and see where your at for lift.

I have a spike camp. I am only 5'7 and I get lift out of the 22in stays with reasonable loads. Its a sweet little pack, that I use for a day pack up to a weekend if the weather is nice(think summer scouting, fishing and shed hunting). The pack really sticks to your back, and almost seems like im not wearing it. Iv owned a handful of k packs and to this date the spike camp with 30lbs in it is the most comfortable to me. It hauls weight well for me up to about 50lbs (exactly where kifaru puts the comfort rating).

I would really like a late season, but I think if I was to get the late season it would end up sitting around seeing as I also own a HC4800, that or the HC would sit around. Another plus to the spike camp, is that it can be run without a waistbelt for biking or using it as a day bag. I might be wrong but with the wraptech suspension of the late season it cannot be used without a belt.

In all the spike camp filled the gap for me and gave me what I wanted. A day pack and a UL weekender pack. Something short enough to use while biking, and the ability to leave the belt at home if I don't need or want it in the way. If you cannot get lift out of the 22in stays, the late season may be a good option, although the main bag of the late season is basically the same size as your t2.

My stays on the T2 are 26". I really had not thought about dropping the lifter slider down to 22". Thanks for that suggestion. My thoughts on the Late Season as well. It's feels the gap between my T2 and BHC4800. Removing the belt for hunting whitetails back in Nebraska would be nice as well. Its albout the stay length on the spike camp for me. If the 22' works out it's a done deal. Thanks for the reply
