Kifaru sleeve pattern?

I'm looking at sewing a kifaru type pack sleeve on two of my non kifaru bags to work with my duplex frame. The bags attach ok currently but I think the sleeve will make a world of difference. Has anyone done this that can offer up any info? Best material? Pattern? Or any other tips/tricks. Thanks for the help!

Double layered 500d is what I do on my packs for the sleeve. Are you going to surface mount it or open up a seam to tuck it into?

I was thinking I would just sew to the surface. Do you recommend a specific thread or anything?

Max your machine can handle, I am running T70 bonded nylon personally. Might want to sew the top part down first with the edge down and then fold it over to sew the sides, it will keep the frame top from digging into your seam.
