Kifaru Shipping charges

As much as I like Kifaru stuff, I’m more or less done buying from them. Last year I made an order, I called a few days later to add another thing to my order so it could all ship together. They refused to let me add anything to my order even though it was far from shipped, no amount of discussion would change their mind so I had to pay a seven of 25.00 shipping fee to get that item.

I won’t even get into the fiasco that unfolded when I ordered my pack from them and it showed up with wrong/missing parts.
Sorry to hear that. Doesn’t sound like the normal Kifaru reputation

That’s a bummer I’d like to hear about the fiasco

Myself as well, as this thread certainly wasn't intended with any bashing involved. Simple "fix a problem" type thread, which would lead to a positive for us all.

I ordered a pack from them a while ago and a few days later I realized the pack is useless if I don’t have a frame. So I called them up and asked to add a frame to my order and that was that. No problems at all

I just ordered an upper for the gunbearer. I noticed that they had a part right in their "Terms and Conditions" that have to be agreed to, that any changes after about 24 hours (when they process the order) would have a separate shipping charge (full charge)...EVEN IF THEY SHIP IT IN THE SAME PACKAGE.

I paid with PayPal, and they didn't add the shipping to my original payment...so I then received an "extra bill" for the shipping to be paid in a second payment.

There are definitely a couple things they could do to catch up with the CS that has been displayed by some of the other competing companies. Like was mentioned above, this is not about "bashing", but rather hoping that what appears to be a good company pays attention to these little things that are deterrents to some when they are choosing a product!

Hey everyone,

I had our shipping and IT department look into things. The size and weight we had on our shipping software may have put the Sherman Pocket over the threshold to qualify for USPS shipping which is generally cheaper than UPS. I think we have things corrected now. If anyone ever runs into this issue, please give us a call to customer service to see what we can do as we should be able to override the shipping cost if applicable. If anyone has shipping concerns or any others, feel free to send me an email, [email protected]. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

In all my years dealing with them, that right there is typical Kifaru customer service. I've never had an issue with them that required more than a quick call, e-mail or text to get resolved.

I mailed something a couple days ago via USPS which was about 16"x12"x12" (guess) which was kind heavy and it was $50!!!! Hindsight I should have just paid for an extra bag on my flight as I didn't want to take it with me on a planned trip for a wedding. I asked why $ and they said combo of weight and distance..........not sure why she measured it as I watched but didn't say it also depended on size of box. At any rate, is it possible very small items at Kifaru go in a small envelope whereas bigger items may be in a standard box? Since distance and weight are used, I assume K has to go with an average price for a variety of items and some maybe more and some may be less. I get it that shipping can be a sticker shock but also find that shipping things nowdays doesn't always seem "fair".

I’m just happy the invoice they included didn’t have prices for the items in the box..... helped avoid an awkward conversation with the misses.

I had the same issue for a guide lid. I am lucky and live an hour north so I just decided to do in store pickup. I pick up stuff for my buddy in Missouri every once and a while and ship it to him with a sixpack of local beer and it's still less expensive.
