For me when I bought my first Kifaru frame & bag, what set them apart was def how transparent they are. Very active on YouTube and IG. Bags are indestructible, cs is top notch, and options galore. That said, while I appreciate all the bag options. It was a bit overwhelming. Plus all the extras. After a while I just wanted to simplify. So I moved on from them. I’ll eventually get something again, the kutthroat looks great and i Like the xpac material. I think Aron, the options, customization, and social media presence is what sets them apart. And that’s coming from someone who no longer uses their gear.

I have lived in Colorado for the past 24 years and I am the only person I personally know that has one. Mine is a first generation Late Season, bullet proof. Nothing has broken zippers, straps, buckles what is not to like. Mine must be 20 years old, it was/is the first hunting backpack I ever purchased. It has seen hard use and shows little if any wear. I would buy another one in a minute if mine ever wears out.
So awesome!.... my brother & I killed 2 bulls last year in Colorado 40yds from each other & 4 miles from camp thru downfall. We got back to camp at dark & there was a resident/CO truck parked at our camp. Met a super nice dude. He said he heard us shoot & asked how we did? We showed him our kill pictures & he knew where we were. He asked us if we had pack frames & we showed him our KIFARU packs & told him how we’ve been packing elk in Montana for years with them. He didn’t even look at our packs when we showed him & told us he has never heard of KIFARU & that we should buy Eberlestock packs cause that’s what works best in “these mountains”........I Love America 👊🏻

Sure is funny how many resident Colorado hunters have never heard of kifaru.

I think this threads gone anyways so I'll pitch in a story here of "these mountains"... We were sheep hunting a few years back in WY and had a kid from Arizona come up to help us. He was rocking Zeiss 15's while the guide had a pair of 10x binos and a mid tier spotter. The guide told me that "those high power binoculars don't work here"... as he's handholding 10x binoculars looking 2 miles away and the guy with 15's is glassing steady on a tripod. Just made me chuckle.

The term “guide” is applied like the term “Prostaff” in many cases

Going back to the beginning of when I noticed Kifaru, I don't believe their were any other high end packs like it besides MR. (McHales was out there but not sure if they built packs made to handle 100+ pounds) Both MR and Kifaru were extremely popular at the time for high end packs. Neither appealed to me. The MR was like 10#'s and the Kifaru was a duffel bag with straps to me. (longhunter bag) Fast forward a few years and MR was still heavy, moved production over sea's, and Kifaru started making different bags/frames.

I would say that is one of the reasons Kifaru is popular. Because they have been doing it for a lot longer than some of the newer top tier pack makers. Sitka is the same on the clothing side. Now you have a bunch of other good clothing companies out there because of the success Sitka has had.

I am curious how many high end hunting pack companies there would be if it wasn't for MR and Kifaru paving the way with success? Would SG, EXO, SO, and the new companies springing up every year have opened shop if it wasn't for MR and Kifaru?

what about the OP? He got the type of reaction he was looking for.

I don’t even know what you mean. I read his post like everyone else. sounds like he likes Kifaru. What’s the big deal? And just because somebody says something doesn’t mean he’s right. It’s just in these crap show threads there’s always an instigator, and I got rid of him.

the post was a troll, he was looking to get a rise out of people. I guess it is fishing season here. The OP and person you banned are cut from the same cloth, wouldn’t surprise me if they were the same people;-)

I disagree it was a troll post. Could be wrong but I know this thread improved when I banned Razzle.

One thing I notice a lot from other hunters and their pack preferences is there is a spectrum of different kinds of packs. One side of the spectrum being simple minimal layout or on the other end of the spectrum being modularity. I have a Kifaru pack on order right now and I’m looking forward to getting it. The modularity of Kifaru really appealed to me but it seems like if I truly wanted to simplify my system I could still stick with Kifaru and just leave off the pockets, lids, and all the different things you can attach. Most of their bags seem like they are a really simple design. What went into your decision process when you did want to switch? What did you end up getting? I agree with you, Kifaru does a great job on YouTube, social media, and podcasts, as well as CS and transparency. They are really entertaining, I would be lying if I said that didn’t play a factor in my decision to go with a Kifaru pack as well.

A rise? LMFAO. Not hardly. Why you mad bruh? I asked a fair question in the OP. A few of you got your vagina's hurt for whatever reason. If it makes you feel better, I'll start another thread where you can debate who makes the best pack not named Kifaru. Stay tuned 😉

point made...
