I wanted to thank the team at Kifaru for helping me out a couple of weeks back. Before you skip ahead please note that Kifaru said this was a known issue in the early KU 5200's and they made a production change to address it.

I have two KU 5200's that I've had for the past 4 seasons and I've never had a problem with them (one was bought new for my wife, this one was bought used off Rokslide for me). I was cinching down the load for packing my buck out on Sunday the 6th and one of the straps that secures the lid to the pack fell off. I managed to get the load secured without it and packed my buck out without event. When I got home I forgot about what had happened.

Fast forward to Friday the 11th as I was packing up to leave that day to help a buddy on a muzzleloader hunt. It was about 10 AM and I was going to hit the road at noon. I got all packed up and realized I only had one strap. I cinched it down and it fell off. I immediately called Kifaru and talked with Kevin and explained the situation. He said to come down and they would take a look. I couldn't use my other KU because a friend was borrowing it for a goat hunt.

I went to the shop and they helped me out right away. I was in and out in 20 minutes and the repair looks great and I don't foresee it failing. This really was awesome and helped me get back on the road in time for the evening scout before the opener.
