Just like the title says. I'm looking for experiences good or bad with charters out of Ketchikan. I'm just needing a flight for two guys and gear to get to POW so I'd like to not pay for a beaver unless we have to.

Edited to say this will be for August of next year.

We flew with a woman named Michelle years back. Not sure she is still there. Beautiful restored Beaver with flowers painted on fuselage. you should find her if still flying. If I can find name of company I will repost. She was great.

Taquan used to have a cessna on floats but it looks like after they bought Promech all they are flying now are Beavers or Otters. Might want to call and ask if they have a charter cessna.

If you are looking to go to the north end of POW island, you could look into flying out of Petersburg. Pacific wings and Nordic both use smaller planes. I've only flown with Pacific wings, on two different aircraft, and they were great to work with. Their cessna is amphib and you don't have to make your way through town to the boat harbor. It would be a longer flight than from Ketch, so your cost might be even with a Beaver from there.

Seawind Aviation flys a Cessna 185 on floats out of KTN. I use them every year, and service is top notch.

When we left POW last summer my buddy took Taquan on a float plane from Coffman Cove. They flew around delivering stuff for a while before heading to KTN.
We took Island Air to get to Klawock on the way over. (no float plane)
