So after a fair bit of homework and weighing things we just did our upgrade with Verizon for now.
It has been 3 years since we last did so and alot has changed since then for Verizon and our family.
Long of it short, the new S25 line from Samsung has satelite texting/SOS features built in so that pretty well negates any reason for us to switch to Tmobile presently. They were running pretty solid deals on trade ins, kick backs on cases plus adding 2 lines for our kids finally. We are giving their home internet a test run as well as it gives us a couple streaming services we already pay or free, costs less than our current provider and we are dropping our old land line with the kids having phones now.
If the internet works out, we'll pay $85/month less total with 4 cell lines and internet now than we were paying for cell 2 lines, land line and internet before...If the internet sucks we still save $20 a month from where we were dropping land line.
We are headed to Colorado/Wyoming in a few weeks and wanted to get this all done well before then so we stayed with Verizon for now.
I'll report back on the satellite texting as I'm sure we'll find some dead spots were we are headed in few weeks.
If it works, then it's a win...if not...we still save on our bill from what we were paying
Appreciate the input folks.
