I”ll put this to the all the cooler experts here on RS. All of my rotomolded coolers warp after a few years. Resulting in not sealing as they should. The corners of the lids bow up and the front and back sidewalls bow in. It almost seems as though the out skins shrink slightly over time. Creating a tension that results in a bow.
How do you guys, if this happens to yours also, counter or fix this?

My Canyon hasn’t shown any sign of this at 8 years. These name brands or knockoffs?

My 140qt RTIC seems to warp and unwarp and it's not temperature related. It sits outside on my trailer in full Texas sun and it's pancake flat the last few weeks, but sometimes the ends are sticking up like wings.

I haven’t had this problem using them for a few years. I guess I haven’t had them in extreme heat or sitting in direct sunlight for hours. First I’ve heard of it, but I’d like to prevent it if it’s a common thing.

What brands are these? I haven't had this issue with any of my Yeti or Canyon coolers. I did have this issue with a K2 brand cooler I was given as a promotion when I bought a truck a decade ago. It went down the road.

So the real solution is to put that thing on Facebook Marketplace and unfortunately spend a little more money.

Define name brand or knockoff in today’s retail world.
One is a made in the USA 65qt Lifetime (keeps ice longer than a Yeti), the other is a 110qt Mammoth

My 140 RTIC and one of my 75 Yeti both. Yeti seems to be more permanent, lives in my boat in storage so that one's not sun. One other Yeti lives in the boat and has a seat cushion and I've not seen that one flex or warp.

OP, I have a 45 qt K2 cooler we found floating in the bay late one night in a storm. It lives on the back deck at our fish camp on the coast fully exposed to all the harsh elements Texas has to offer. It's not warped.

I've seen a few yetis with a warped lid. The ones I see are almost always dark colors and in direct sunlight. My neighbors navy blue 45 is sunk in the center. I suspect from sitting on it in the heat.

I have 3 white ones that have never had an issue, but I also keep them out of direct sunlight as much as possible. All mine are also 8+ years old.

My RTIC 65 that is basically permanetly mounted in the black of my truck hasnt warped. Grey, 4 years old. The tan yeti it replaced was 4 or 5 years old and it never warped. I only replaced it to change colors. Yes I know its vain. They will be so hot in the summer they burn when you touch them.

That’s so weird I’ve got two ozark trail 60 ish a rtic 145 and a yeti and they all live outside . Only issue I have is they will vapor lock and I’ll have to unscrew drain to vent the pressure

- Did you do a homemade hinge repair on them that could have caused the lid to be slightly offset?
- Do you strap them down tight with rachet straps that could cause this?
- If the gasket track is not free of debris then over time I see how it could warp the lid.

I store my similar Igloo and Lifetime with the lid open a good bit and have no such issues. Good luck.

Nope, never seen that before even on cheap coolers. I have a small cooler that is big enough to fit two gal jugs of milk and some ice that I've had since college (the 80's), and I still use it all the time. My rotomolded 200qt marine cooler is going on 20 years and no issues like that. Maybe humidity.......because we generally don't have much.

My Grizzlies seem fine, they live in the AZ sun and heat. My Coleman extremes warp when hot. I put a piece of 1x2 on each back about 6 in. corner to corner 45 degrees and put a cmu block on the corners when I store them. Takes the warp out til next time.

Ive seen warpage from Yeti, grizzly, rtic and canyon and however there doesnt seem to be a rhyme or reason on which ones do or dont from what i could tell.
