I would like to see a moderate conservative much like Kennedy himself. There is a lot to be said about balance on the court. The recent fourth amendment ruling is good example.

NO. THANKS. I'd much prefer a strict Constitutionist.
You gotta be joking, but I'll bite. Conservatives love the Constitution. Liberals hate it. Moderates are in the middle. Liberals want to interpret the Constitution the way it pleases them, not change by Amendments. Conservatives know the only correct way to change the Constitution is by Amendments. Moderates are in the middle. There are three branches of government, Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. It's really that simple.I don't understand how the 2 are mutually exclusive. The constitution is to be interpreted and applied to modern times. That is why we have the court from my understanding. There is also a reason why we have amendments. Its not a perfect document. Why can't a moderate be a constitutionalist?
SMH at what has to be the most ignorant post I have ever read
On another note, while I agree with James that he is likely going to pick a more moderate conservative, I'd have no problems with him going extreme conservative. Because I haven't seen nor, have yet to be provided with an example that conservative living isn't correct and, for the greatest good for all involved. People preach the middle but, I have yet to see the benefits for the masses, our Constitution, and our Bill of Rights with middle of the road politics.
Conservatives are like "the adult in the room." If it works, don't fix it. Change should come carefully if at all. Conservative living is like traditional living. Some people think this is great, others think it's awful. It's debatable.I am interested to hear what you consider "conservative living". I would also be interested in how you consider it "correct and, for the greatest good for all involved". Utilitarianism is actually the concept of the greatest good for all involved and is far from any GOP or conservative practice.
I'm a libertarian leaning Conservative and didn't vote for Trump. I was angry with the way he acted in the primaries. I didnt believe he'd do conservative things once elected, because he's a moderate or liberal on a bunch of things. I didn't vote for Hillary either. I was a staunch never trumper, until he won the election and have slowly been coming around. I hate how he talks and the idiotic things he says. However, he has accomplished a lot of fantastic things. I'll vote for him next time around. I'm his fanboy now!!I don't think this is a risk to public lands since there aren't any major cases in that arena...for now. As a libertarian, I wasn't exactly proud that trump ended up with the nomination, but fully expected Ginsberg to be done and needed a conservative in office to protect the 2A and religious liberty. I'd never vote for a Democrat, especially not Hillz, but at any rate, all the news this week has been fantastic. Add to that the bat shit crazy stuff coming from Mad Max and I'm feeling optimistic about mid terms as well.

I'm sorry but I was shocked. I thought you were pulling out leg. Apparently you were not. No biggie we aren't born knowing everything, especially me.It is sad that a question has to be answered with "You gotta be joking..."

What that are a party hacks that tow the line rather then look at issues independently.
