How have your experience been with this tarp???
What is the actual weight with cordage and steaks??
Looking at replacing my mountain Smith LT tent and it looks like I could go up drastically in size of tent and keep about the same weight. How does it pitch and is it loud in the wind??

I’ve had zero first hand experience with the Hudson, but in my shopping for a tent was told that the lack of vent and few guy out points was a bit of an issue. With it. I ended up going with the luxe hexpeak so I could get the skirt, guy puts and top vent. The Hudson was a close second but i couldn’t find anyone with a decent review or first hand experience with it. :/

The Hudson is a great shelter! I had one of the early versions and ended up selling it regretfully. It offered plenty of space for two people and gear, packed down extremely small, and was very light for all it offered. The only issues I had was I couldn’t ever get it pitched taught and had to improvise additional guyouts (this has since been resolved and come standard now). I have tried a few others since and keep leading back to getting another Hudson. You just have to keep a very watchful eye as he sells out quickly.

As far as the wind I wouldn’t say it was abnormally loud. I couldn’t sell a difference from any other similar designs.

I could not get mine pitched tight enough that I would trust itto hold up to anything but calm weather. When I asked about extra guy outs on the corners I got a firm "no".I think they have added them now

I have a Kifaru Tut
Partner had a Hudson, paid about 1/2+ Less $ than my Tut cost. He occasionally teased me about price difference. He couldn’t see a difference.

Couple years back, we camped in Superstition Wilderness in late December, on coues hunt.
Storm, high winds then mixed rain- snow rolled in. My Tut walls were being blown, shaken something fierce!

His Hudson had 2 places where seams gave out.
in the early am, he was in my Tut, warming up by the stove. Hudson was still staked down on now 3 corners, flapping in the wind.
Both tents pitched & staked well, same area set ups. But only I had a wood stove.
His wife fixed the Hudson, he sold it cheap.

I still have and use my Tut in backcountry, now going on 4 years
vehicle camp too if I don’t set up Kodiak 10x10.
Pard went bomb proof with Hilleberg. Spent more $$$ than my Tut AND stove.

he doesn’t tease me anymore. Probably knows I’d bring up that 5 day trip in the superstition backcountry. His gear wet, him miserable until coming into the Tut at 2am to warm up & dry off.
He wasn’t the same in the head after that 3rd stormy night. He stayed in camp day 4, recovering. Day 5 he went out 1/2 day then back to Camp Tut, his spirit broken.
Would have packed up & left but we only had my vehicle at trail head. So we spent night 4 & 5 sharing my Tut. I prefer using Tut solo.
