Ive been so happy with my Jim Green barefoot african troopers that I am seriously considering picking up a pair of their Moc Toes for work and hunting. It looks like they also just opened up preorders for their barefoot option on these Moc toes. which is very tempting but if im using them for work, Im not sure how comfortable they will be on the jobsite every day...

Has anyone picked up a pair yet and if so how is the sizing on this model? Pros? Cons?

I preordered the barefoot moccasin boot. Gonna use for work and hunting. I’m a forester so I work out in the woods and I’m hoping they will perform well for that. I have high hopes for the boot.

Why the moc toe? Not Jim green, but I find moc toe boots to just add a failure point where the boot flexes. I personally see no reason to buy a moc toe JG when the trooper is available.

It’s a real moccasin construction so not a Moc toe. A Ubers good way of constructing a boot. Check out videos about it.
When I think moccasin construction in a boot I think this style. Maybe someone can comment once they get them.

What the hell is JG thinking on the outsoles though.

Yeah that’s exactly what the Jim greens are. A true moccasin construction just like Russell’s but more affordable. The outsole for the barefoot version is supposed to be minimalist and not like the big vibrant high heel logger boot sole.
