Javelina Austin TX

Hi,
Looking for a bit of advice, not looking for hunting spots or anything. I'm looking at possibly going to Austin TX for some schooling for a while, & I hear Javelina is one animal they hunt down there. I'm just wondering if there is anything you can share from your experience chasing them as I have never experienced that before. Also, does TX operate on a points system for other big game species or how does that work?

No points needed, your allowed 2 per calender year. You do have to buy a lic., which is good for 2 javelina. My favorite animal to hunt ( archery)
