ISO daypack to 2 night pack I can wear while riding a horse

Hey guys, my Kuiu Icon Pro 3200 got chewed up by my dog, and I'm probably going to be in the market for a replacement. I liked the pack but hauling a quarter between the frame and the bag was kind of cumbersome. What I need is a pack I can wear while riding a horse, something that can be used as a daypack, but something that can pack meat off the mountain or out of the deadfall. Something that can pack a gun or bow. I haven't seen one in person, but the MR metcalf , crew cab ,or cabinet (I think it's called)might work? What other brands and models should I look at?

Crew cab fan here. Buy used off eBay. I am very happy with mine although the unloaded weight of 9 pounds is a bit of sticker shock. You are paying for the stability and hauling capability.

Once you figure out the packing and cinching it is a slick design. Great from 30-40 liter day pack up to a capable meat or tree stand hauler. Comparing the wing style concept to the type of packs that have a meat shelf in between the pack and frame like my rambler it seems to load more easily.

I've done everything from day trips to week long trips, to packing elk quarters and mule deer with my Kifaru Argali. It opens up big and cinches down flat. If you truly dont want that much space (Argali is ~7000 cu in) I'd check out the Markhor...same design, just a bit smaller. A bow or rifle easily straps to the back and keeps things neat and secure.

Honestly I dont think you can go wrong with any of the Kifaru, Mystery Ranch, Exo or Stone Glacier packs. Before buying the Argali set up I was torn between the Exo 5500, MR Marshall, and Kifaru Argali.

Found a crew cab and it should arrive tomorrow. All I need is a lift kit.
