Horsemen, what 2 cents can you pitch in for using Horses/Mules on Big Game Hunts?

I concur although the lifestyle with horses is far superior for me than a motor rider. Yesterday packing meat after a week and a half of riding the remote country far and above excedes anything offered by a machine.

The bond between the horse and rider is hard to explain but it just is.

I had a horse farm with my ex wife. Had up to 17 horses at one point. Worked a full time job then went home and worked what felt like a second full time job.

Fast forward, got divorced, kept my two horses and will NEVER be without a horse. Most weekends find me with my Davis Go-tent, one of the horses and my cur dogs riding the trails. Spring and fall I run my beagles on snowshoe hare horseback. When the snow flies, I retire the horses for a much needed rest and strap on the snowshoes to hare hunt.

I guess what I'm saying is no matter how much work they are, I enjoy the time in the saddle so much that it's worth the effort
