My first bow was a BassPro frankenbow. I think it was had Hoyt limbs and cams with a Bowtech riser. It developed the same splinter for lack of a better description. I shot it for years and still have it and shoot it from time to time just to remind me how far I've come.

Just take pictures before you do your work on it. Then fix it. It won’t be a problem. Hoyt never actually looks at the limbs, they are warranted through a Hoyt dealer who will order new ones while you keep the old ones so your bow is functional. Then once the new limbs come in, switch them out and then they will go to Hoyt. That’s at least how our local dealers do it.
We actually send the limbs back. Won’t affect the warranty to sand and glue it.

I had a similar situation last august. It was a bit smaller than that but I just trimmed off the sliver and put a layer of superglue over the damage. I hunted all September with it then had Mathews warranty my limbs. It was more of a piece of mind thing for me since I never noticed any negative effects.

Well, it looks like the solution to my limb problem was a new RX3 in verde. I’ve never had a short ATA bow before, but this one felt great. Fingers crossed....

Hoyt was not super helpful when my dealer called, but it sounds like eventually they’ll send new limbs. But I was happy to just trade it to my bow shop for credit on the new bow.

This happens with every bow manufacturer out there. The limb edges are very prone to splintering. I have shot limbs splintered like this for months and never had an issue.
